For over 16 years, The Best War Games has been a source of news, guides, and editorials. Our goal has always been to inform readers while also providing in-depth coverage about the latest and greatest games, both AAA and Indie. We have even expanded into interactive maps that allow players to easily locate any collectibles or items they may be missing.

While our coverage places a strong emphasis on the industry and games, we also like to shine a spotlight on gaming culture. As part of that, we are proud to announce a new YouTube series that we will be doing called The Best War Games Roadshow. In this series, our host, Noah Waterman, will be exploring New York City to check out places like arcades, shops, etc. New York City is a nexus for all sorts of cultures, fandoms, conventions, and events. In fact, there is a huge gaming presence within the Big Apple. Not only will this series highlight places with a passion for gaming, but also tell the stories of the people behind these locations.

For the first episode of The Best War Games Roadshow, Noah checks out the biggest retro game shop in all of New York City, Video Games New York. For over 20 years, this independent store has been the place to go to find games, consoles, and accessories. They also sell all sorts of merchandise, both well-known and obscure, like old Mario gum from the late 80s. They even have a museum section where you can see incredibly rare things like a special edition PS3 signed by Hideo Kojima.

While Video Games New York excels as a retro game shop, they do far more than that. They have expanded into being a publisher for indie games and vinyl records under the name Video Games New York Soft. Video Games New York also celebrates the gaming community by hosting all sorts of events for players to partake in. They even rent out equipment to other events so that players can experience games from past generations that they may not have had a chance to check out before.

This is just one example of the kind of places that Noah will be visiting during The Best War Games Roadshow. The first episode is available now on YouTube, and there will be a new episode every month. Stay tuned to see more fantastic locations across New York City.
