Building a home in InZOI is a treat for players who love getting creative. Much like The Sims, it lets you design beautiful properties for your Zois—just like the dream homes you see online or imagine in real life. And the best part is there's no shortage of options for windows, doors, wall decorations, and more.
But when it comes to flooring, things can get a little tricky—especially for beginners. The floor tiles in Build Mode don’t seem to resize, making them difficult to fit within the grid. If you're wondering how to work around this, here’s a quick guide on adding flooring to your homes and buildings in InZOI.
InZOI: Smart Zoi Function Explained
Smart Zoi function promises to have more human-like Zoi's in the gameplay. Here's what to pay attention to regarding this feature.
How to Add Flooring in InZOI
In InZOI’s early access, there are two ways to add flooring to your place. One happens automatically, while the other needs you to lay down floor tiles yourself in Build Mode. Here’s how both work:
Normal Flooring
The easiest way to add flooring to your Zoi’s home is by properly aligning the walls during construction. If done correctly, the game will auto-generate a surface without you needing to do anything extra. However, this only works when you’re building from scratch. Pre-made homes already come with flooring, so you can simply change their color and texture for a fresh look.
To begin, go to Build Mode and start placing walls around the empty plot. Make sure to toggle on the Floor Grid (third icon on the top bar) and drop the first pillar at the very start of the grid. If you set it lower, the structure won’t create flooring.
If things don’t seem to work, try selecting the wall and adjusting its position to align with the first blue tile on the grid. As such, you can also add a surface to the second floor of your Zoi's home by following the same steps. Keep in mind that the ceiling may look like a floor from above, but it isn’t—so make sure to place an actual one there.
Floor Tiles
The other way to add flooring is by laying down Floor Tiles in your property space. Just search for 'Floor Tiles' in the Build Mode menu, and you’ll find three size options there:
- 7.5 m x 7.5 m
- 15 m x 15 m
- 30 m x 30 m
While this method gives more control, it’s not ideal for small spaces since tiles don’t resize in early access, which can make placement tricky. It’s better suited for larger properties where you can use the given sizes to create homes, outdoor flooring, patios, and more. If you’re using a house preset, you won’t need to place tiles since flooring is already included—you can use platforms instead to improve the design.
How to Change Flooring Color, Texture, and Material in InZOI
Once your floor is in place, it's time to make it your own. You can customize it however you like. For instance, you can change the paint, swap out tiles, go for a wooden or grassy look, add effects, or even use AI-generated textures. To do this, simply click on the floor and select the paint icon. From there, you'll see all the available options in the bottom bar. Just pick the flooring style that fits your vision and save it.
