InZOI has made waves this year, as the hyper-realistic life simulator could prove to be a solid competitor to The Sims. Since the game entered early access in March, those who have played InZOI have got to experience a taste of what the title will have in store once it launches in a complete state.

These days, games having an early access period before a full-blown launch is a common road for developers to take. There is plenty of debate about whether early access is good or not, but beyond that, developers have the difficult task of keeping players engaged until the official launch arrives. There are high hopes for InZOI, and the game's roadmap has already promised some strong updates planned for the year, with one of those being mod support. Once InZOI includes this massive feature, the game's early access could keep players busy for a long time.

InZOI and The Sims 4 treat death very differently, highlighting each game’s tone: one leans absurd, the other morbidly close to real-life struggles.

Once InZOI Gets Mod Support, the Door Will Be Wide Open For Players to Express Their Creativity

Despite a Delay, InZOI is Still Set to Get Mod Support

InZOI's first big update was just recently delayed, but thankfully there isn't a long wait ahead. When the roadmap for InZOI was released, it was promised that mod support would arrive sometime in early May. However, players will have to be a little bit patient now, as mod support will now hopefully arrive in mid-June. Of course, another delay could happen, but as of now, InZOI is eyeing next month as the launch target for its first major update.

InZOI's mod support sounds compelling, too. Not only will players be able to customize the game in a variety of ways, but InZOI is working to ensure that it's as efficient and satisfying as possible. From official Maya and Blender plugins to full integration with CurseForge, InZOI's planned mod update could prove to be a true game-changer for the life sim. Despite having a strong launch, InZOI has already been losing players, and mod support could be just what the game needs to reignite excitement.

Right now, InZOI's other big updates for the year are scheduled for September and December. This is subject to change, though.

Mod Support Has Kept Games Thriving Years After Launch

Whether it be Skyrim or Stardew Valley, modding communities have helped keep games alive. Adding mod support to a game gives players a newfound sense of freedom, since it means fans don't have to solely wait on updates from developers. If a player wants something specific, they can mod it into the game themselves, and it leaves a world of possibilities within reach. InZOI players have called for improvements since the game's launch, and mod support might be the best upgrade possible for early access success.

Developer Krafton has yet to reveal when InZOI's early access period is planned to end.

InZOI Still Has a Long Way to Go

Even when mod support finally arrives, InZOI will have to prove that its world is worth sticking around with. Just because a game offers mod support doesn't mean it will do the trick to keep players invested. For example, Starfield modders have been losing interest in the Bethesda space adventure, even though they can help shape aspects of the game however they please.

Although modding is a great way to add longevity to a game, a strong base has to be there first. While InZOI's character creator has been praised, other aspects like NPC autonomy have been heavily critiqued. Mod support will be a strong addition to InZOI, but only time will tell if it actually helps make its early access period more enjoyable.
