Krafton has shared a preview of the upcoming InZOI mod kit, which will officially launch later this month. After years of EA dominating the life simulation genre with The Sims, fans were eager to see a viable competitor go toe-to-toe with the critically acclaimed series. While many were expecting Paradox Interactive's Life by You to be the one to take on The Sims, the studio unexpectedly canceled the title after delaying its early access release window multiple times. Thankfully, Krafton stepped in with InZOI in March 2025, receiving largely positive reviews from both players and critics. Although the game is still in early access, Krafton continues to add new features and content via a steady stream of updates, with the next patch officially set for later this month.
InZOI's Next Major Update Should Do Battle with The Sims on a New Front
InZOI’s next update could push the life-sim genre forward by exploring a spooky, untapped frontier that would set it apart from its competitors.
InZOI Shares New Mod Kit Preview
Following the release of numerous new content updates for inZOI, Krafton is now gearing up to add official mod support to the game. In a new blog post on the game's official website, Krafton gave fans a preview of the new mod kit tool and confirmed it would be launching via the Epic Games Store in "late May." Players will be able to download official InZOI assets, such as furniture or clothing, to allow for easy customization and adjustments. Krafton has also confirmed that official plugins for both Maya and Blender will be provided to make it easier to create 3D assets.
InZOI's mod kit will also come with full CurseForge integration, which will allow creators to upload their completed mods to the site. Fellow players will then be able to easily search for and download mods via the in-game CurseForge interface. With competitor The Sims 4 already having many mods available via CurseForge, it's no surprise that Krafton is aiming for full integration with the site to make the process as easy as possible for players.
While Krafton has already shared the full post-launch roadmap for InZOI, the studio has now shared a second roadmap dedicated to new modding updates. The first update will officially arrive later this month, with all of the aforementioned details, followed by a second update in September and a third in December. Fans can look forward to further modding expansions, with the second update set to include character features such as faces and hair, as well as architectural elements like doors, fences, pillars, and windows. The update will also allow modders to create interaction-based content like conversations, voice, rewards, and motion.
As for the December update, Krafton says this is when "most outfits" will become moddable. The update will also allow modders to edit interaction scripts and access localization tools, allowing for "deeper and more diverse content."
