Summary
- Inzoi plans to release on Xbox and PS5 but no date set yet.
- The game promises hyperrealistic graphics and improved gameplay.
- Inzoi aims to rival The Sims with fresh, modern take on life simulation genre.
The developers behind Inzoi have revealed plans to port the game to Xbox and the PS5, albeit without a concrete release date. The current era of life simulation games has been nothing short of colorful. With the cancelation of Life By You, Paralives slated for Early Access in 2025, and The Sims 5 being in development, the genre has perhaps never had this amount of competition before. However, perhaps the most promising of the bunch may end up being Inzoi, developed by Krafton on Unreal Engine 5.
Boasting hyperrealistic graphics and improved gameplay, Inzoi is being billed as a next-gen experience inspired by The Sims franchise. Given how popular the character creator demo for Inzoi has been since its Steam debut, players certainly have high hopes for the game. The full release is scheduled for late 2024, and though it will solely launch for the PC on Steam, it would seem that Krafton is keen on making Inzoi a multi-platform title.
As revealed by the developer on Inzoi 's Discord, a console version for the Xbox and the PS5 is in the works. It should be noted that Inzoi is expected to be a very demanding game, and adapting it for current console hardware, especially for the Xbox Series S, may prove to be a daunting task. The features in Inzoi show a fully-simulated, complex neighborhood, using modern graphics and realistic animations – the core concept of The Sims 3 taken to its natural conclusion. While the character creation demo has had a smooth performance thus far, and streamers have had very positive impressions on Inzoi, it remains to be seen how the full game will run on the average PC.
Inzoi is Coming to Xbox and PS5 in the Future
Given the rumors of a PS5 Pro launch in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2024, it's quite likely that Krafton is hoping to make use of its hardware for the console port of Inzoi. The path towards adapting it for the Xbox is a bit murkier, however, as even Baldur's Gate 3 had to make major concessions to run on the Xbox Series S. Regardless of the circumstances that separate Xbox and PlayStation, fans should be prepared for Inzoi to remain a PC exclusive for the majority of 2025.
The impressive character creation demo and gameplay footage have certainly put Inzoi on the map, as it may prove to be the biggest rival to The Sims in the coming years. While the task of dethroning the king of the life simulation genre is easier said than done, a major advantage that Inzoi has is that it represents a fresh start and a modern take on the formula. Many players feel that The Sims franchise has gotten complacent due to a scarceness of competition, which is why the success of games such as Inzoi will ultimately benefit the genre as a whole.
