Summary
- InZOI's first major update is delayed to mid-June.
- Delay aims to prioritize quality over speed, addressing unintended side effects in emotions.
- It's unclear if this will impact the InZOI roadmap as a whole.
The developers of InZOI have recently delayed the game’s first major update, which was expected to be released later in May. This InZOI update would focus on adding improved emotions to the game’s Zois and an official modding toolkit to the title, but the team decided to delay it to give it more polish.
Announced in 2023 and released in early access in 2025, InZOI is a popular life simulation game developed by the InZOI Studio and published by Krafton. Taking inspiration from The Sims, the title offers gamers the chance to control characters called Zois in their daily lives. InZOI sold over a million copies, becoming an instant hit, and it reached a peak player count of 87,377 gamers soon after its release.
InZOI Parenting Improvement Wish List
InZOI's early access is missing many key features, but one of the most important parts of gameplay needs to take it further in the next update.
Now, the developers have revealed that the first major update for InZOI will be delayed to mid-June. According to the developer’s Steam page, the update, which would focus on adding improved emotions to the game, will be late to “prioritise quality over speed.” Soon after the most recent update, InZOI Studio recognized that it needed more time to polish these mechanics, as some unintended side effects have appeared in the emotions system. The upcoming update will also include the eagerly awaited modding system. After the update, gamers will be able to upload a mod to CurseForge and install it via the in-game browser, which will make it easier for the community to create and share mod content. It was not revealed, however, if this delay will impact the rest of the road map for future InZOI updates.
InZOI Devs Delay Future Updates to Focus on Quality Over Speed
Despite this delay, InZOI Studio has generally been able to put out regular updates for the popular life sim. In previous updates for InZOI, the game introduced more ways to customize Zois, and over 30 new items, as well as more textures for build mode. The latest patch also made some important gameplay adjustments, such as diminishing the rate at which pollution affects the environment, and improving the emotional stability of Zois.
It’s possible that the next major update will be important to keep InZOI’s fanbase engaged. After its successful early access release, the InZOI concurrent player count has dropped drastically over time. It remains to be seen whether these updates will revitalize InZOI and make the title popular once more.
