InZOI director and producer Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim has revealed new features and improvements added to the game's forthcoming update, which has been rescheduled for release on June 13. Players previously expected the first major update for InZOI to arrive in May; however, an announcement made by developer InZOI Studio's decision to focus efforts on further polishing meant players would have to wait a bit longer for promised additions, such as improved emotions and an official modding toolkit.
Revealed in 2023 and launched in early access in 2025, InZOI is a life simulation game published by Krafton for PC. Although its gameplay is similar to The Sims, with players—referred to by the community as creators—managing the lives of characters known as Zois, InZOI distinguishes itself with its realistic graphics and slower pacing. Drawing praise from players and critics alike, InZOI sold over one million copies just a month after its release and reached a peak player count of 87,377.

In a letter to players posted on June 6, Hyungjun Kim announced that the first major update for InZOI will now be released on June 13, along with additional updates to relationship systems, quality-of-life improvements, and new customization options. Along with the aforementioned modding features and system upgrades, InZOI creators will have more freedom when it comes to building families and relationships between their Zois, including an option for players to enable romantic relationships with any viable Zoi. After the update, Zois will be able to have children regardless of marital status, either genetically or through a new adoption feature. The update also adds romantic interactions between teenage Zois and conversation-starters that can be sent via text message.

The June 13 update will also include more gameplay tweaks and options previously requested by InZOI community members, such as user interface size adjustment settings, item exchanging between Zois, and additional cheats for players looking to enhance their experience, with more promised in future updates. Customization options are also being expanded, with the InZOI update adding more than 100 new customization items to the character studio. Another change will see Zois changing all on their own, with characters now gaining or losing weight in response to their lifestyle choices.
The letter and the upcoming update are InZOI Studio's most recent attempt to repair relations with the community, with Hyungjun Kim reemphasizing his team's goal to provide regular updates to InZOI and improve communication with players. Although InZOI has managed to establish itself as a competitor to the industry staple that is The Sims, it's clear that InZOI Studio still needs time to build upon its gameplay if it aims to live beyond the initial hype of its Early Access period.
