Vtuber Ironmouse has responded to Kai Cenat's comments on reclaiming the title of the most subscribed Twitch channel in history. It has been a little over a week since Ironmouse broke the Twitch record during her yearly subathon.

On September 30, Ironmouse successfully surpassed Kai Cenat's record of over 306,000 Twitch subscribers. The Vtuber was holding a subathon to raise money for the Immune Deficiency Foundation when she eclipsed Cenat. Shortly after breaking the record, Ironmouse was congratulated by fellow content creators and Twitch itself. Kai Cenat praised Ironmouse as well, but the streamer also promised his supporters that he'd regain the top spot eventually. After forty days of streaming, Ironmouse officially ended her subathon on October 10, with her subscription count at over 326,250. Now, the Vtuber has responded to Kai Cenat's plans to break her record.

Ironmouse Responds to Kai Cenat About Breaking Her Twitch Record

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ironmouse acknowledged Kai Cenat's comments about getting back the all-time Twitch subscriber count crown and expressed eagerness to see it happen:

"Records are meant to be broken. I think it’s incredible and amazing if he comes back and he breaks it, because you just have to keep moving on and moving forward. I think it’s amazing for his community; it’s amazing for the streaming community as a whole."

Record-breaking Moment 'meant a lot to me,' Says Ironmouse

Though the Vtuber reiterated that her subathon's main goal was raising money for charity and her community, she also revealed that breaking the record was a life-changing experience:

"I cried a lot. It meant a lot to me because it’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and I am Latina, and it meant a lot to me as a Latina, it meant a lot to me because I was the first Vtuber to do it, the first woman to do it, and it was just a lot of firsts."

Ironmouse became Twitch's most subscribed female streamer in 2022, but she started creating content in 2017. Her increasing popularity earned her the award of Best Vtuber at The Game Awards 2023. Ironmouse also founded the popular Vtuber group VShojo in 2020.

Although Kai Cenat recognized Ironmouse's feat with respect, some users weren't as polite. Ironmouse received negative reactions from some creators and their communities, but she said that comments from fellow streamers were mostly positive overall. The road to earning her Twitch record was not easy either. In the middle of her subathon, Ironmouse's YouTube channel was abruptly terminated. She has since returned to the platform, but the Vtuber did not reveal YouTube's reason for taking it down in the first place. Her YouTube channel currently has over 1.16 million subscribers.

Ironmouse's success is undeniable as she is arguably Twitch's most prominent Vtuber ever. Recently, Ironmouse launched Vtuber Academy, a weekly talent show that gathered 14 well-known streamers as contestants and had them create content as Vtubers. The winner would get their own fully-funded Vtuber model. Though her subathon has ended, it is likely that Ironmouse will continue growing on Twitch. It took her over a year to become the all-time most subscribed streamer, but whether Kai Cenat will break her record in less time remains to be seen.
