However, this is the first time that Syr has outright stated her feelings for him, which finally put Bell on the spot to reciprocate with a concrete answer. Despite Syr's attempts to be intimate with him, Bell refused every single advance, stating that his Goddess Hestia would be upset with his actions. While Bell's true love interest hasn't been made clear, it's obvious that he has no interest in Syr as a romantic partner.

Syr isn't one to take no for an answer, as she persuaded Bell once more to accept her feelings. However, Bell's stern rejection was the last straw for Syr, who then reveals herself to be Goddess Freya in disguise. This exchange of personas can be traced back to Horn's own childhood. As an orphan, Horn met Freya, who asked the child what she wanted most in this world. Horn's response was to be exactly like Freya, a wish that the Goddess granted. In exchange, however, Freya took Horn's real name, "Syr." This allowed Freya to take on the persona of Syr and live among humans by shedding her divine presence, while Horn took Freya's place via the transformation magic gifted to her by the Goddess.

Since Horn can transform into Freya, she can also experience the exact same sentiments that the Goddess experiences. This also includes any and all emotions for Bell Cranel, meaning Horn, while playing the role of Freya, became obsessed with Bell due to the actual goddess' emotions. To free Freya from loving a mortal, Horn plots to kill Bell Cranel by transforming into Syr and lowering his guard. However, Bell had already caught on to the ruse, leading to Horn's plan failing altogether.

As Horn went against Freya's will and attempted to kill Bell, the Freya Familia tried to kill her for her act of blasphemy. However, Horn reasoned that her audacious act was for her goddess' benefit, as it would free Freya from her obsession for a mere mortal. For Horn, Freya is a god among gods, and for Freya to act like a teenager in love is a defilement of her Goddess. With the episode ending on a cliffhanger, much remains unknown, though it’s clear that Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon’s narrative has taken quite an intriguing turn.
