Fans of Jackbox Games' brand of humorous party games may want to keep their schedules clear for an upcoming Jackbox Direct showcase that has been set for April 7. Jackbox Games has been a major force in the party game genre for years, and many fans are eagerly anticipating news of what's to come after some uncertainly in 2024.

Originally founded under the name Learn Television, the company's first gaming product was a children's trivia game called That's a Fact, Jack!, but its true rise to prominence came in 1995 with the release of the more adult-oriented You Don't Know Jack line of trivia games. About 11 years ago, Jackbox shifted away from pure trivia and into chaotic, player-led party games with the release of the original Jackbox Party Pack in December 2014.

The Jackbox Team Reveals Their Strategy For Creating Successful Party Games

The Jackbox Games team discusses what it takes to make a successful party game and how the studio applied this strategy to new title Survey Scramble.

For an entire decade, there had been a new mainline sequel released annually, the most recent being The Jackbox Party Pack 10's release in October 2023. While there were a couple of spin-offs, no numbered sequel was released in 2024, breaking the longstanding tradition and making longtime fans curious about the direction of the series moving forward. That direction may be clarified soon, as a new blog post on Jackbox Games' official website has provided details of an upcoming Jackbox Direct showcase scheduled for April 7, 2025, at 2 PM ET (11 AM PT).

Jackbox Direct Start Time and Date

  • April 7, 2025, at 2 PM ET, 11 AM PT

The showcase will be available to stream on Jackbox Games' website or on IGN's YouTube channel. The blog post doesn't share any details about what will be revealed during the Jackbox Direct, but it will be hosted by C.J. Tuor, who has served as a writer for Jackbox for the last seven years while also sharing his writing and performing talents at Chicago's Second City Theater. While the existence of a Jackbox Party Pack 11 still hasn't been confirmed, the showcase is likely to reveal some new entries in the long list of Jackbox party games that have been included in previous Party Packs.

Of course, the publisher and developer may have something even more innovative up its sleeve. While 2024 didn't see a new mainline entry in the series, it did include the standalone game Survey Scramble and the mature Jackbox Naughty Pack, a collection of more risqué versions of past games that many fans had been requesting for years, including Dirty Drawful and Fakin' It All Night Long, along with all-new game Let Me Finish. In addition to these spin-offs, 2024 also saw the launch of The Jackbox Megapicker, a piece of software on Steam that lets players launch any Jackbox party game they own without opening the entire Party Pack that contains it.
