Euphoria star Jacob Elordi has recently revealed that he fully trusts the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, to end it when the time is right, but he has no clue when that could be. Euphoria already has two successful seasons under its belt and has received mass critical acclaim and praise.

This had led to the series building quite a strong, loyal fan base as well, leading to only more future growth for HBO Max's dark teen drama. Amongst the impressive Euphoria cast list is Zendaya as Rue Bennett, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard, and Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn. Recently, Levinson has had many negative rumors floating around claiming that he has facilitated a toxic work environment. One circulating as of late claims that the reason star Barbie Ferreira's (Kat Hernandez) screen time was cut significantly was because she got in a heated argument with Levinson over where he wanted to take her character in Euphoria season 2. Ferreira has now come out and shut down all of those rumors, claiming that they are just simply not true. Elordi is similar in the way that he has stood by and been a big champion for Levinson's creative process, even as he has taken his character down quite the wild ride.

Now, while speaking with Variety, Elordi has admitted that he has no idea what direction the show is going towards for season 3, but he full-heartedly trusts Levinson's judgment blindly. Euphoria is a series that is centered around tackling and healing trauma, so that element of the show isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. However, Elordi has faith that the creator will do the right thing for the sake of the narrative rather than prolonging a series way past its natural ending. He stated, “It’s hard to watch TV shows get butchered into oblivion, but Sam’s brilliant and I think he knows just how long it can stay true. I trust that man implicitly.”

Although many fans who watch the series feel as though they can deeply relate to the vulnerable experiences and traumas that each main character goes through, Euphoria also received a lot of controversy for its depiction of violence, drugs, and sex. Euphoria may be centered around a group of teenagers, but it is definitely not meant for younger audiences just because of that. Levinson has been credited with being able to portray teenage lives in a way that is not over-glamorizing or glorifying whatever explicit trauma that they are going through. He doesn’t shy away from the truth.

He definitely pushes the envelope when it comes to finally challenge societal notions on drug addiction, LGBTQ+ representation, and mental illness. With Euphoria season 3 officially on its way, fans are quite curious and excited to see where Levinson will take the series from here. Controversy has seemed to follow the show from its very inception. Unfortunately, that is to be expected of creative projects that are deemed simply inappropriate or ‘too much’ for showcasing the real trials and tribulations of life that many people have gone through or will go through.

Euphoria seasons 1-2 are now available on HBO Max.
