Jeepers Creepers: Reborn is the fourth and latest entry in the horror franchise and tells another sometimes goofy story about The Creeper. He feeds on people every 23rd spring for 23 days, and he can also be found driving a truck aggressively down a highway as he goes about his business. The film was released in September 2022 and, according to Box Office Mojo, grossed $6,175,213 worldwide.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn features new characters who are trying to escape The Creeper's killing spree while also figuring out more about him. It also shares a few things in common with the previous three movies in the franchise. Most of all, it has a silly tone that isn't as terrifying as it should be, and it wasn't as popular with fans as the previous three movies. The Jeepers Creepers: Reborn ending does suggest that another movie featuring this well-known horror villain could be made in the future.

What Happens In Jeepers Creepers: Reborn?

The Creeper in Jeeper's Creepers Reborn

The opening scene of Jeepers Creepers: Reborn echoes what happens at the beginning of the first Jeepers Creepers movie. While the 2001 film Jeepers Creepers isn't a horror movie that needs a legacy sequel, it does tell an effective story. In the first movie, siblings Darry (Justin Long) and Trish (Gina Philips) Jenner are driving home from college when an aggressive truck driver appears behind them. They see him throw what appears to be a body wrapped in a sheet down a pipe next to a creepy old church, and they don't feel that they can just drive by without doing anything. The same thing happens in Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. This time, an older couple played by Gary Graham and Dee Wallace are on a Florida highway. They make the same grisly discovery.

However, the couple are actually actors playing parts in the true crime TV series Macabre Mysteries. The next scene features Laine (Sydney Craven) and Chase (Imran Adams) who are driving to Louisiana's Horror Hound festival. Chase loves true crime and Laine isn't such a big fan. The beginning of Jeepers Creepers: Reborn sets the stage and ensures that audiences know that they are heading into creepy territory. Audiences are then reminded of the story of The Creeper, who could be considered one of the worst horror movie villains because he is given a brief backstory and that's about it.

After Laine has a strange vision in a store along the highway, she learns that she's pregnant. While Laine isn't the best horror movie main character because she's fairly dull and devoid of a personality, the fact that she is keeping this secret from her boyfriend does add some necessary dramatic tension to the story.

The next few scenes see Laine and Chase at the horror festival. While he has a great time because he thrives on all things scary, Laine keeps having visions that scare her and make her realize that she has an odd connection to The Creeper.

What Happens At The End Of Jeepers Creepers: Reborn?

The Creeper and Laine in Jeepers Creepers: Reborn

The Jeepers Creepers: Reborn ending isn't quite as straightforward and streamlined as the ending of Jeepers Creepers. Since the fourth movie in the horror franchise isn't as good in general, and the characters aren't as well-developed, that makes sense.

At the end of Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, Chase asks Laine to marry him and then the Creeper kidnaps Laine in an old cemetery. The Creeper also murders the man who is filming the festival. When the Creeper tries to kill Laine, Stu (Pete Brooke) distracts the creature with a gunshot. The others aren't so lucky, though, and the Creeper murders several of the festival-goers. At this point in the movie, it's fairly clear that Laine and Chase will live. Every Jeepers Creepers movie is fairly silly and Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, which isn't a great reboot, isn't any different. Unfortunately, there isn't much to be afraid of in this scene, even though the Creeper does continue his killing spree.

After Laine gets away, she explains to Chase that the Creeper has been stalking her due to the fact that she is expecting a baby. Laine decides that she's going to trick the Creeper when it turns out that Lady Manilla and Madam Carnage are followers of the Creeper who have been trying to find his next victims. Laine takes a creepy object called a shuriken and makes it hard for the Creeper to see.

The next part of the Jeepers Creepers: Reborn ending is a little chaotic to watch. Unlike the ending of Jeepers Creepers 3, which does something different from the other movies, this one feels more goofy than anything else. Stu falls from a roof and dies and crows eat the Creeper. But, as fans could guess, the Creeper is seen in another location, completely fine and ready to kill another day. The question remains if horror fans want another Jeepers Creepers movie.
