A new voice may be joining Invincible season 2. If Jeffrey Dean Morgan's teasing is to be believed, he might join Amazon Prime Video's other superhero satire show.

Invincible was a surprise hit for Amazon Prime Video. The series stars Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson, a teen who takes on the name Invincible as his superpowers manifest. Invincible season 2 is set for a 2023 release date and will pick up in the aftermath of Mark's fight with his father, Nolan, also known as Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), an alien thought to be Earth's greatest defender before it's revealed he's paving the way for an invasion of the planet.

In an Instagram post, Morgan teased the possibility of joining the series. In a black-and-white photo, Morgan posed with volumes 2 and 3 of the Invincible comic book. "Doing a little reading," Morgan captioned the post before thanking Robert Kirkman, who created the comic and character.

If he does join the cast, it won't be the first satirical take on superheroes that Morgan signs on to. Morgan is set to star in The Boys season 4, and though that series is live-action, it features plenty in common with Invincible. Both are skewering takes on superheroes filled with plenty of social commentaries, and both feature more gore, blood, and violence than would ever be allowed on network television.

With the direction of Invincible season 2 and Morgan's penchant for playing bad guys, Morgan could play a new, formidable foe for Mark. The story of Invincible is the story of Mark's growth into a full-fledged superhero - the strongest on the planet. He'll be facing plenty more challenges in seasons to come, and Morgan could be the man to bring some of those foes to life.

Invincible already features a stacked voice cast. With names such as Khary Payton, Sandra Oh, and Gillian Jacobs, the series has some heavy hitters. Though Morgan is not primarily known as a voice actor, he does have a few voice credits to his name. It wouldn't be a stretch to see him in Invincible season 2, but unless an official announcement is made, Morgan is simply teasing fans with a little light reading.

Invincible season 2 will air on Amazon Prime sometime in late 2023.
