After the announcement that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is among the latest castings for the upcoming fourth season of The Boys, fans got a little glimpse of what Morgan's role on the show could be by calling back to his most well-known character over the past decade or so.Fanart by rahalarts depicted Morgan as his ruthless, tyrannical character Negan in The Walking Dead mixed with a poster from The Boys' second season back in 2020. Though it's just for fun, it could give fans a glimpse of the kind of character Morgan may very well play in the next season of The Boys.RELATED: The Boys Season 4 Premiere Title Revealed As Filming Officially Starts With the caption, "Excited for Jeffrey Dean Morgan to join Season 4 of The Boys #TheBoysSeason4 #TheBoys #theboysfanart #JeffreyDeanMorgan," the picture depicts Negan looking straight into the camera while pointing his iconic bat with barbed wire covering it, which he called Lucille, right at the camera. The picture is recreating how threatening Negan is as an antagonist when he first showed up in The Walking Dead. Given that The Boys centers around superheroes being morally horrible people at their core, bringing in Morgan, who has been playing one of television's more iconic villains, may only add more flavor to it.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/rahalarts/status/1563251919484637185[/EMBED_TWITTER]With the casting of Morgan, the show continues to bring in well-repped television actors known for playing one particular popular character. The show more or less hit a home run with the casting of Jensen Ackles, best known for his work as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, as the tyrannical Soldier Boy. Before that, the show expanded the role of Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his work as Gus Fring on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, as the business-savvy Stan Edgar, which also added another layer to the show's dynamics. Morgan could potentially add more of the same. The Boys found its footing again in its third season following a mediocre second season, so adding someone like Morgan, who's played a bad guy before, could potentially keep the good times coming for the show. However, they have to be careful with all of these new characters they are bringing in because before you know it, the show may start from an overabundance of characters. Ironically enough, that's what went wrong with The Walking Dead around the time Negan showed up. The show added way too many new characters that it could not stay focused on the main plot of its seasons going forward. The show's issues had nothing to do with Morgan's portrayal of Negan. In fact, the issue was that they didn't show enough of him. It's also possible Morgan plays a completely different character in The Boys compared to The Walking Dead, much like how Ackles played an unlikable douche nozzle like Soldier Boy, which was a role Ackles hadn't really played before. The Boys has hammered home that while the supes from The Seven are not good in the slightest, the protagonists are not exactly morally clean people themselves. Morgan's character could add a new dimension that way, but it would all depend on what role they would have him play. The Boys seasons 1-3 can currently be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.MORE: The Boys Predictions For Season 4 Source: Rahal Arts/Twitter
