The most recent video game entry in the iconic manga and anime franchise, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R was last year's update to the 2013 original. A 3D fighter in the vein of games like Tekken that also channels the technical nature of Capcom's classic Heritage for the Future, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is widely considered the most aesthetically accurate adaptation of JoJo to date.
All-Star Battle R is an update in multiple ways, namely the new characters in its roster. The title's second season of DLC is slated to begin this Fall, and the arc of JoJo each upcoming character originates from has already been revealed. No solid confirmations can yet be made, but there are only so many characters available from most of these Parts.
Part 5 - Golden Wind
Nearly all significant characters from Part 5 have already been implemented, leaving only some of the lesser-known antagonists and one character that fans have been requesting for years.
- Leone Abbacchio - The only member of Giorno's Passione gang to still be missing, Abbacchio’s Moody Blues Stand is famously ill-suited for combat. While he may require an unconventional playstyle, his status as a former police officer helps.
- Cioccolata/Secco - Prosciutto and Pesci showed that duo characters are possible for the roster, and these two antagonists are another inseparable pair. Their Green Day and Oasis Stands are some of the weirdest in the series, meaning their implementation wouldn't be easy.
- Notorious B.I.G. - The automatic Stand of the deceased Carne, B.I.G. Was activated upon his death and pursues its target endlessly. With the addition of Foo Fighters, All-Star Battle R has shown the potential for lone Stands to be on the roster.
Part 4 - Diamond is Unbreakable
All of its key characters have already made it in, but there are still a few more fringe picks that could show up to make Part 4 the most represented arc in the entire game.
- Yuya Fungami - The enemy turned ally of protagonist Josuke, Yuya's Highway Star Stand ability would require an incredibly creative implementation to remain faithful to the source material.
- Mikitaka Hazekura - With his ambiguous status as a shapeshifting alien often mistaken for a Stand user, Mikitaka could bring his signature comic relief.
- Rats (Bug-Eaten/Not Bug-Eaten) - Not to be underestimated, a pair of rat Stand Users threatened the lives of both Josuke and Jotaro with their devastating Ratt Stand abiltity.
- Tonio Trussardi - Another funny side character from Part 4, Tonio's Pearl Jam Stand that works through his cooking would be tough to implement in gameplay.
Part 8 - JoJolion
Easily the most hyped slot of the upcoming DLC characters, fans of JoJo’s most recently completed arc are hoping to see some real representation of it.
- Josuke Higashikata (Go Beyond) - The original All-Star Battle released when Part 8 had just begun, and the version of Josuke it includes is outdated and ill-fitting of the character’s development. Adding his recent final form, Go Beyond, would bring the game full circle after a decade.
- Yasuho Hirose - The deuteragonist of Part 8, Yasuho is just as important to the part’s representation as Josuke.
- Tooru - Spoilers aside, many fans are clamoring to see how Part 8’s final antagonist will utilize his omnipotent Wonder of U Stand ability.
- Joshu Higashikata - Unfortunately for fans of Part 8’s diverse cast, Joshu is most likely to make it due to him already appearing in Eyes of Heaven. His major role as a stage hazard has led some to doubt his inclusion, but Pesci also made it into the game despite the same circumstances.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
