Recently, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure posted a message, confirming that there will soon be an announcement about the next installment of the anime. Since the last part covered Stone Ocean, the upcoming anime adaptation will focus on Steel Ball Run, or Part 7.

It is worth noting that the post does not mention Steel Ball Run explicitly, but it does state that there will be a special announcement for the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. For years, fans have been waiting to see an anime adaptation of Steel Ball Run.

Not only is it the highest-rated JoJo part on MyAnimeList, but it is also the second-highest-rated manga on the website. The immensely high ratings prove that Steel Ball Run is nothing short of a masterpiece, which is why there is a great degree of excitement within the fanbase.

JOJODay Will Be A Big Event

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans should mark their calendars for April 12, 2025, because it is the day when the announcement will be made. It is called JOJODAY, as there will be other interesting events related to the franchise. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is also holding a poll in which fans can vote for their favorite episode. The voting period ends on March 30, 2025, and the results will be announced on April 12, 2025.

Aside from the anime, Steel Ball Run will be available in English print for the first time. Viz Media had already announced a physical release on its X account, and it was the first clue about a possible anime adaptation of Steel Ball Run. The first volume of Part 7 will be released on May 27, 2025.

Steel Ball Run Anime Possible Release Date

Once the anime is announced, fans will naturally question when it will be released (unless a release date is disclosed at the same time). Since David Production has animated every season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it is safe to say that Steel Ball Run will be handled by the same studio. In that case, Steel Ball Run could come out in late 2026, as David Production has scheduled the final season of Fire Force for early 2026.

Since both are important projects, it doesn’t make sense to prioritize one over the other. Therefore, David Production will try to take its time and not rush either of them. Steel Ball Run will be a new challenge for the studio, as the story is set during a horse race. Many studios have struggled to capture the motion properly, so there will be pressure on David Production to get it right.
