Joseph Quinn is currently in the spotlight of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is kickstarting a brand new phase of the franchise. However, behind the scenes, he has already been hard at work on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, helping to put together one of Marvel Studios’ most ambitious movies to date.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently in development, with filming taking place in England. It has allowed Quinn and the rest of the Fantastic Four the opportunity to work alongside some of the more established names in the MCU. Even though the movie has been delayed, the cast has been working together to put things together, and one actor in particular has impressed him so far.

Robert Downey Jr. Is one of the most established stars in the MCU at this point, having been the face of the brand in many ways during his years playing Tony Stark/Iron Man. He is returning to the MCU to play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, taking on a villainous role for the first time, and Quinn has been impressed by the experienced actor, as he told People.

"Veterans have been giving us very sage advice and giving us their time. He's an amazing leader. He's so generous. He's hilarious, and he's a remarkable actor. There's no shock as to why he is where he is," Quinn said about Downey Jr.

Despite the large cast that Avengers: Doomsday has, the Stranger Things star admitted that they have “been spending quite a lot of time with some cast members in that film,” which has been supported by various social media images that have been revealed in recent months. Fans have seen the cast hanging out together, whether it’s going for meals or watching Thunderbolts* as a group. It showcases a level of team spirit that should hopefully benefit the movie when it comes together.

The Fantastic Four are expected to play important roles in Avengers: Doomsday, and there is a lot of anticipation for how they will connect with Downey Jr.'s Doom. Typically, he is a villain best associated with those characters; therefore, there is a strong likelihood that a connection will be made between them in this movie. Whether that means they have already shot scenes together is unclear, but Quinn evidently has seen Downey Jr. Operating on set, and the fact that he is working as a leader proves how much the franchise means to him at this stage of his career.

When it comes to Downey Jr., he has extensive experience with the MCU, having starred in his own trilogy while also appearing in every other Avengers movie. While Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, the experienced actor has been brought back immediately, showcasing his importance to the franchise. It’s currently unknown how long Downey Jr. Will be involved, and whether he will be part of Avengers: Secret Wars, although Kevin Feige recently confirmed that many significant characters, such as Iron Man, will be recast soon. However, for now, audiences will be able to enjoy Downey Jr. In Avengers: Doomsday, with his leadership qualities potentially setting the MCU up for another blockbuster success.
