Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie was recently released in Japan, and the official account shared a legal warning due to major leaks. Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the most popular anime series worldwide, and a continuation of the anime has been announced. It will cover the Culling Game Arc (chapters 159–221), and possibly some of the subsequent arcs.

There is not much information on Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game yet — it hasn't even been confirmed whether it will be a new season, a movie, or something else. However, to prepare fans for the next events, a movie compiling the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death Arc from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was announced last year, and it is now screening in Japan with great reception.

New Scenes from JJK Movie Leaked Online

As is common with compilation movies, this Jujutsu Kaisen film features bonus content, including a new ending scene. This is a way to get even the most hardcore fans excited about the movie, even though it is just a compilation of past events. However, as soon as the movie was out in Japanese theaters on May 30, footage of the new ending was leaked online. These scenes were recorded in the theater, which is illegal in Japan and many other countries.

For this reason, the official Jujutsu Kaisen anime account in Japan issued a legal warning on X (formerly Twitter), reminding fans that recording in theaters and uploading copyright-infringing content are crimes in Japan. While the account did not confirm whether the production team is taking action against those who uploaded the footage, it did ask fans to refrain from doing so. Given how Japanese companies tend to behave in this kind of situation, it is likely that they are seeking legal action. Something similar happened with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba a few weeks ago, and the response was basically the same.

The illegally recorded images and video footage of the ending of the current screening of “JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie” has been found on the internet. Filming a movie inside a theater is a crime under the Law for Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films (Film Piracy Prevention Law).

In addition, uploading such unauthorized recordings to platforms like X, YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook constitutes copyright infringement.

If copyright infringement occurs in violation of the Film Piracy Prevention Law or the Copyright Act, penalties may include up to 10 years imprisonment, or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both.

To ensure everyone can enjoy the movie safely, we kindly ask you to refrain from any unauthorized recording, posting or sharing. Thank you for your cooperation.

Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Compilation Movie Be Released in the US?

Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death will be released in theaters in the US and Canada on July 16, 2025. GKIDS is licensing the film in North America, which is surprising since Sony and/or Crunchyroll usually handle this kind of release. The film will also be released in other countries worldwide. This arc comprises the first part of JJK Season 2, also known as Gojo's Past Arc, focusing on events that happened with Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto prior to the beginning of the manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English and other languages.
