This threat just confirms how seriously Megumi feels about his friends. Even though he’s fully aware of how dangerous Jujutsu Society can be, he can’t help but grow attached to those who fight alongside him. But the Shibuya Arc finally answered this question, and it did not disappoint. Mahoraga is Megumi’s strongest Shikigami, to the point that not even he can fully control it. This is said to Yuji Itadori, when Megumi is trying to get him to return to Jujutsu High after the events of the Shibuya Arc. But his friend feels extremely guilty because of everything that happened, including when Sukuna forced him to kill a lot of innocent people. And this long yet impressive quote encapsulates Megumi Fushiguro’s character perfectly.
Despite his attitude, Megumi is a heroic sorcerer who wants to save everyone no matter what. However, he’s fully aware of how corrupt and unfair Jujutsu Society can be. They’re not heroes, and nobody can judge them if they fail to save people. But they also need to show how necessary they are for this society and to keep pushing forward, even if things get even worse. Megumi Fushiguro’s body was taken over by Ryomen Sukuna during the final arc of the series, so he was absent from the story for an extended period of time. But, when Yuji Itadori finally got a chance to save his dear friend, the two had a one-on-one conversation that unveiled Megumi’s true feelings.
In this simple but endearing conversation, he confesses how he wanted to protect Tsumiki and preserve the normal life that they used to have.
