Jujutsu Kaisen conquered the anime community and became one of the most sensational series of all time. Gege Akutami crafted a brilliant piece of fiction that breathed new life into the battle shounen concept, featuring an incredible cast of well-written characters, a complex power system, and high stakes.
Yuji Itadori's stumble into the world of Jujutsu Sorcery is an action-packed tragedy that leans into the darker aspect of storytelling and keeps fans on their toes. Among the diverse characters, there are countless individuals with endless potential, some of whom even command more presence than the main cast. Here are some Jujutsu Kaisen characters who could lead their own series.
Yuta Okkotsu
The Cursed Prodigy
Yuta Okotsu is the golden child of the jujutsu world, the strongest next to Satoru Gojo. Yuta's character is one of the most interesting in Jujutsu Kaisen, serving as a major supporting character within the series. Yuta was drafted by Gojo thanks to his unique cursed technique, which allows him to copy other techniques, and his connection to the cursed spirit Rika.
With the new spin-off manga, the grandchildren of Yuta have debuted. It would be an interesting approach to explore the years leading up to Mojuro and how he helped shape the Jujutsu world in Satoru Gojo's absence, along with Yuji, Megumi, and Skugisaki. Additionally, his time away from Jujutsu High would also make an interesting series, specifically his time in Africa with Miguel.
Toji Zenin
The Demon Of The Zenin Clan
Toji Zenin, no doubt, made one of the most significant impacts in Jujutsu Kaisen as one of the few people able to defeat Satoru Gojo in combat and the father of Megumi Fushiguro. Known as the Sorcerer Killer, Toji was forged into the perfect weapon by the abuse that the Zenin clan put him through due to his Heavenly Restriction trait.
Toji's past after leaving the Zenin clan, going out on his own, and developing his reputation would be an incredible story that many fans wish to see. The series could explore just how much of a menace a young and hungry Toji was, and also watch him meet Megumi's mother and witness how their relationship blossomed.
Yuki Tsukumo
The Rogue Jujutsu Sorcerer
Yuki Tsukumo is an enigmatic figure in Jujutsu Kaisen whose presence will be fully felt in Season three during the Culling Games arc. Ranked as a special grade sorcerer, Yuki is incredibly powerful but doesn't serve Jujutsu High or their goals.
Instead, Yuki wishes to create a curse-free world in her own way, motivated by her past as a former Star Plasma Vesel. A series exploring Yuki's origin, the complexity of her existence, and her rejection of being devoured by Master Tengen would be a fascinating and action-packed story.
Kenjaku
The Mastermind Of Jujutsu Kaisen
Kenjaku is the puppet master behind the curtain of Jujutsu Kaisen, pulling the strings of the world to accomplish his master plan. Kenjaku has been crafting a specific set of scenarios that will lead to a new era of cursed energy and has made Itadori Yuji, Master Tengen, and even Ryomen Sukuna his playthings.
However, Kenjaku is one of the oldest sorcerers in history, with a dark and twisted path that has made him a pariah for over one thousand years. A series that explores the depravity of Kenjaku while also delving into the past of Jujutsu Sorcery would be an exciting take on Gege Akutami's original story.
Kokichi Muta
The Cursed Curse Sorcerer
Kochiki Muta appeared during the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen as an automaton called Mechamaruu. Piloting the robotic fighter droid from an incredible distance, Muta was confined to a secluded and sterile environment due to his heavenly restriction.
Quite different from Toji and Maki, Muta's restriction caused his body to be incredibly weak and sickly; however, he was granted the ability to store endless amounts of cursed energy, which he did over the course of seventeen years. Muta's story ended abruptly after his series of betrayals. However, a series focusing on his hardships, and maybe even his relationship with Miwa, would have been an interesting focus.
Jin Itadori
The Father of Sukuna's Vessel
Jin Itadori was not a prominent character in Jujutsu Kaisen, but he is still Yuji's father, which has a significant impact on the story. As the Culling Game's arc developed, there were just as many secrets revealed as there were fights, and it became clear that Yuji's birth was conceived through nefarious means.
While little is known about Yuji's father, it is also clear that there is some relation to Sukuna. A series exploring a possible complicit Jin Itadori who contributed to Kenjaku's plan and was a part of the cursed world. This could tie into Yuji's grandfather's desire for him to be a good person and avoid turning out like his father, who may have been a villain with a secret life.
Junpei
The Hopeful Hero of Jujutsu High
Junpei is one of the greatest rug pulls in anime history, where the anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen went as far to put him in the opening credits, knowing full well his fate at the hands of Mahito. However, Junpei showed great promise with the ability to manipulate cursed spirits similar to Suguru Geto.
Who knows how much Junpei could have accomplished if allowed to flourish alongside Itadori, Kugisaki, and Megumi as a first-year Jujutsu High student. Unfortunately, Junpei's light was snuffed out too soon after Mahito turned him into a transfigured human.
Ryomen Sukuna
The King Of Curses
Sukuna serves as one of the main antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen and has some of the most interesting lore among sorcerers in the series. Proclaimed as the strongest Sorcerer in history, Sukuna was a menace to society during his peak era, casting away anything that didn't directly serve his desires.
With a wealth of history spanning over six hundred years, a series covering Sukuna's upbringing from a flegling sorcerer to a cursed prodigy, and finally his inevitable defeat and transformation into a curse would be a thrilling story that many fans would like to see.
