This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
Every chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo delivers intriguing details not only about Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, but also about the Simurians. Aliens are a new concept in Jujutsu Kaisen, making them a mysterious and unpredictable addition to the series’ lore. Not much is known about them, especially their Jujutsu abilities, but Gege Akutami is gradually revealing their motives and origins.
Among the Simurians, Dabura is one of the most enigmatic aliens introduced so far. Fans often addressed Dabura as the Simurian King or the Alien King whose authority commands fear and reverence among his kind. Despite his limited appearances, Dabura has already left a lasting impression on readers through his overwhelming aura, hinting that his goals may extend far beyond a simple coexistence with Earthlings.
Dabura Is a Deskunte in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Not All Simurians Are the Same
- Dabura’s physique clearly reflects his Deskunte heritage.
- The Deskuntes and Rumelians were in conflict because of the Kalyans.
So far, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has released eight chapters, each containing details about the alien refugees flying above the skies of Japan, observing Jujutsu Sorcerers as they prepare for peaceful coexistence or a large-scale war. No one really knows what they are up to, but seeing through Cross’ perspective, it’s clear that the Simurians are ready to go to war against humanity when the time comes.
Beyond that, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8 reveals Maru and Cross’ backstory while also confirming details about Dabura’s origins. While Maru and Cross are from the Rumelian Clan, Dabura hails from the Deskunte Clan based on his distinct markings, horizontal third eye, and two horns. These physical traits are the exact opposite of Rumelians, who have vertical third eyes and lack horns sticking out of their heads.
As a Deskunte, Dabura is part of the Simurian Clan that forced the isolationist policy on the Rumelians, which cost the latter countless lives and resources. While the Deskunte thrived under this policy, the Rumelians were left weakened and fragmented, struggling to survive and maintain unity. These unfortunate events only happened because the Rumelians believed in sacred beasts called Kalyans, who only attacked anyone who wasn’t Rumelian.
Dabura Is Working With Rumelians Now
Dabura Could Start the Human-Simurian War
In the first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Dabura is seen sitting on what seemed like a throne, acting high and mighty to Cross and Jabaloma. It’s clear that he is now working with the two Rumelians, but the nature of their alliance remains uncertain, considering the history between the two Simurian clans. This cooperation hints at a fragile arrangement, one that could collapse at any moment should their interests diverge.
At this point, Cross has yet to give up on the idea of bridging the gap between the Simurians and the Earthlings, no matter how hard he denies it. Dabura, on the contrary, as a true-blue Deskunte, seems to view humanity as nothing more than a tool to advance his own agenda. If another divide happens between the Simurians, and Dabura chooses to act on his own ambitions, it could trigger another catastrophic conflict between the two clans.
One war breaks out, we have Dabura on our side.—Cross
Of course, the Jujutsu World won’t be spared from conflict. Jujutsu sorcerers like Yuka and Tsurugi could find themselves caught in the crossfire, with Maru and Cross leading the forces of good against Dabura. For now, however, all of these remain theories, as Gege Akutami continues to unravel more mysteries about the Simurians piece by piece.
Dabura Could Be the Last Surviving Deskunte
Dabura Is the Ultimate War Weapon
As of writing, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has yet to show another active Deskunte in the story, other than Dabura himself. He seems to stand as the last remnant of the mighty clan with the power to command the many Rumelians under him, including Maru, Cross, and even Jabaloma.
After all, Dabura is a Sukuna-level threat, whose potential for destruction could match or even surpass anything witnessed during Sukuna’s time. Cross is even confident about Dabura’s abilities, even though the JJK sequel has yet to show a single battle that fully demonstrates what makes him so terrifying.
