As such, throughout the entire run of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans saw countless exciting teams being formed, and the one that stood above all others as the best was that of Gojo and Geto. Even though this team was rather short-lived, its existence alone had immense repercussions on the world of Jujutsu as a whole. To this day, fans consider them to be the best duo in JJK, and that will most certainly never change. Now, over a year after the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami has officially brought back the best as well as the strongest duo in JJK, and that is the team of Gojo and Geto.

When JJK first began, fans were quite confused as to how Geto knew Gojo as well as he did. Back then, it was unclear why exactly Geto was going against Gojo and what relationship these two shared. Of course, those who had read the prequel to JJK knew that Geto was on the opposite end, and that, at the end of the day, it was Gojo who delivered swift justice to him. This made it even more confusing as to how Geto was back in the main timeline of Jujutsu Kaisen. All this was answered in the Hidden Inventory arc of JJK, which is also considered to be the best arc of the series by many fans.

How Hidden Inventory Changed Jujutsu Kaisen

Hidden Inventory focuses on the past of Gojo and Geto, and fans truly get to see how the world of JJK changed because of these two powerful and monstrous individuals who also happened to be the best of friends. While Gojo and Geto were once considered to be the strongest together, the mission to protect Riko Amanai changed it all for them. When the fight against Toji Fushiguro began, Gojo truly awakened and reached a level far above the likes of Geto. More than that, Geto realized the true horrors of being a Jujutsu sorcerer and that nothing would change if he did not do something about the Jujutsu society as a whole.

An endless cycle of exorcism and consumption. Exorcise. Consume. It’s a taste that nobody knows. The taste of a curse. Like ingesting a rag used to wipe up vomit. Exorcise. Consume. For whom? Ever since that day, it’s been running through my head. What I saw was nothing out of the ordinary. A hideous evil, known to everyone. Knowing that full well, I chose to protect them as a jujutsu sorcerer. Don’t lose your way. Follow through with your duty as a jujutsu sorcerer. — Suguru Geto, Hidden Inventory

Gojo and Geto had a difference of opinion on how to go about changing the system in which they were born. In Geto's mind, the logical solution was to wipe out everyone without cursed energy, which meant that only those who could utilize this power properly were worthy of living in his eyes. In Gojo's eyes, this was utter madness and rightly so. This is where the difference in opinion came, and all this happened because of the death of Riko Amanai, who became the trigger for the biggest change in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Eventually, Geto tried his way of working on things and failed, and this is where Kenjaku stepped in and took over the body of Geto Suguru. As fans know, he then went on to become the biggest villain in JJK alongside Ryomen Sukuna, and that is how the story unfolded.

The duo of Gojo and Geto might have been short-lived, but their impact on the fans, as well as the plot of JJK, was absolutely massive. To this day, JJK fans consider them to be the best of friends, with some even going a step ahead and calling them a couple. Of course, opinion on what Gojo and Geto truly were is subjective, but one thing that fans know for a fact is that the love in the community for them is absolutely unmatched. This is precisely why when Gege drew a new art featuring Gojo and Geto, fans were over the moon. This art by Gege was officially revealed in high quality earlier this month, and it is safe to say that fans were delighted to see this incredible duo make a comeback.

Gojo and Geto were both featured from their high school days, and it was quite clear to see that the two were having a lot of fun together in this art. Gege did not really make any comment on this art, but looking at the faces of the two, it was clear to see that this art was from when they were best friends and not the biggest of rivals, or perhaps after their deaths.

Gege's art aside, this new project that he undertook once again reminded the fans how great an impact Gojo and Geto had on Jujutsu Kaisen. As far as Gojo goes, fans know very well that he was on top as the greatest sorcerer and even the face of the entire franchise. Gojo was beloved worldwide, and that continues to be the case even now, over a year after its unfortunate conclusion.

I love everyone and don't feel lonely now, but somewhere along the way, there was a line I drew, not as a human but as a living creature. You can make a flower bloom, you can admire it, but you can't tell that flower, "I want you to understand me." — Gojo Satoru to Suguru Geto, JJK Chapter 236

Meanwhile, Geto Suguru stood as one of the best villains in the entire series, with or without Kenjaku. Together, these two shaped the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, and had they not been there, perhaps the world would have been very different, and the future would have been much more grim than it turned out to be.

In the end, one absolutely cannot deny the fact that Geto went about things the wrong way, and he got what he deserved for it. Gojo, on the other hand, did what he could to raise the next generation right and eventually change the world for good. While Gojo is dead after his battle against Sukuna, his memory and legacy live on through his students. It is quite clear to see that, 68 years later, the world of JJK has changed greatly, and students are better protected than ever.

Fans also know for a fact that Jujutsu Sorcery is now nowhere near as dangerous as it used to be, and their higher-ups are not corrupt anymore. Gojo's memory is being kept alive through the many sorcerers, and now that a new generation has popped up with the likes of Tsurugi and Yuka, fans are sure that this incredible work done by him and his students will continue to be carried on.
