This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest manga and anime series at the moment. With the Jujutsu Kaisen manga having ended in 2024, fans were desperately waiting for Gege's next work, and earlier this year, it was officially announced. A Jujutsu Kaisen sequel is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and it’s set 68 years after the Sukuna Raid. In such a long time, a lot has changed in the world of sorcerers. Most old sorcerers have died, and a new generation is rising. Among this new generation, one new female sorcerer has stood out quite a lot, and that's Yuka Okkotsu, the granddaughter of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin.
After Yuji Itadori, Gege Akutami Finally Sets Up The New Strongest Sorcerer In Jujutsu Kaisen
Yuji is strong, but so is this newly rising sorcerer in JJK Modulo.
Right now, Yuka Okkotsu stands as humanity’s last ray of hope against Dabura. She has set herself up as JJK’s new strongest female sorcerer, and if she survives this ordeal, she could go on to become the strongest sorcerer of this era, and maybe even the new Gojo Clan leader.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a new story set in the same universe as the original JJK story, featuring a massive timeskip of 68 years.
In 68 years, many powerful sorcerers have died. This has left a huge gap for new talents to emerge, and among them is Yuka Okkotsu. Yuka is one of the new main characters, and in just a few chapters, she has established herself as a phenomenal character and a fan favorite.
Not only is Yuka incredibly interesting as a character, but she has also shown great strength and resolve. As Yuta’s granddaughter, she has inherited his immense cursed energy reserves. This alone makes her a natural prodigy at sorcery, but it doesn’t stop there for her.
That's a specialized blade for cursed spirits. The Sword of Extermination. It's enveloped in positive energy, similar to Reverse Cursed Technique. If I were a cursed spirit, I would've been a goner. But he deflected my attacks. He can see it. He can see my cursed technique. Not bad! — Ryomen Sukuna Vs Mahoraga, JJK Chapter 118
Through her grandfather, she has also inherited his ring, Rika. Rika is known as the Queen of Curses, and anyone who can make use of her powers is dangerous.
Yuka, however, didn’t just inherit powers from her grandfather’s side. The Zenin bloodline through Maki also flows through her, and it has granted her one of JJK’s most powerful cursed techniques, the Ten Shadows.
Yuka was officially confirmed to be the user of the Ten Shadows Technique in JJK Modulo Chapter 15. After Megumi’s potential death, this power has passed on to her, making her a huge threat. As seen in the latest chapter, Yuka has already gone on to unlock Mahoraga. There’s no other female sorcerer who could stand up to her at the moment.
Yuka Could Become JJK’s New Strongest Sorcerer If She Survives
It goes without saying that Yuka is the strongest female sorcerer alive right now. On top of that, she might just be the second strongest human alive at the moment. Yuji Itadori, who was recently confirmed to be immortal, is most certainly stronger than her right now.
Everyone else, such as Tsurugi, and other sorcerers, can't compete with the powers of Rika and Ten Shadows. This is even more impossible now that she has made a Binding Vow to increase her powers.
I think it was during the Edo period...or maybe Keicho? I forget, but the heads of the respective households killed each other in a fight before the aristocracy. Back then, the leaders were a Limitless Cursed Technique user with the Six Eyes like me for the Gojo Family, and a Ten Shadows technique user like Megumi for the Zenin Family. You get what I'm trying to say? — Gojo Satoru to Megumi Fushiguro, JJK Chapter 117
68 Years After Gojo's Fall, Gege Akutami Confirms The New Strongest Sorcerer In Jujutsu Kaisen
Gojo was Japan's strongest sorcerer, but that isn't the case anymore. Japan has a new number 1 in JJK Modulo.
In general, most Simurians can’t beat her either. The only Simurian who can cause her trouble and kill her is Dabura, who is a Sukuna-level threat. Yuka is easily making the 3 strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
If Yuka survives the Dabura battle and her brain tumor is healed by someone like Yuji, she could become JJK’s new strongest in the future. Yuka could also go on to lead the Gojo clan as its first female leader, since she's got a distant connection to them through Michizane Sugawara.
Jujutsu Kaisen Has Featured A Strong Female Cast In The Past
Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t exactly the series with the best female characters, but it still features some standout powerful women, even before Yuka.
In the original Jujutsu Kaisen, the strongest woman fans knew of was Yuki. She was the only woman known to officially be ranked as a Special Grade Sorcerer. Yuki was powerful, but she was sadly sacrificed for Kenjaku’s sake by Gege.
There’s also Maki who stood out. Maki is Yuka’s own grandmother, and she probably had the best character arc of any female character in the original JJK. Her storyline with the Zenin, and her contribution against Sukuna, made her JJK’s most memorable female character.
Yuka Okkotsu has the potential to surpass them all, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what Gege does with her in the coming months.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 16 will be released on December 21, 2025. The release time of the chapter is midnight JST, or 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT). Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
