This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s sequel series has proven to be absolutely incredible so far, and fans have enjoyed every single chapter that's come out so far. With a ton of new lore about different races, as well as adding to the already established lore of the world, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo continues to impress the fans. Most importantly, Gege Akutami, the author of the series, has revealed a ton of new powerful sorcerers as well. While some of them are still in the process of developing as fighters, such as the next generation, others have already reached their peaks.
One such sorcerer has now been confirmed to have taken over the throne of the strongest in Japan, and that's none other than Yuji Itadori. Despite being quite old, Yuji still possesses a youthful body and carries immense strength. Above all, he's now officially the strongest sorcerer in Japan, taking over from his very own beloved teacher, Gojo, who entrusted the remainder of the job to him before he died.
Gege Akutami Confirms Yuji Itadori Is Now The Strongest Sorcerer In Japan
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is set 68 years after the conclusion of the main story, so it's no surprise that fans were wondering how the sorcerer world had changed in these years. Of course, a lot has changed, given that most sorcerers they knew are either dead or out of commission. The laws surrounding sorcery have changed as well, and a new alien race, called Simurians now wants to coexist with humans on Earth. One thing that gives the fans a familiar feeling despite it being a different era is the former protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori.
We must start looking for Yuji Itadori immediately to act as a deterrent! — Sorcerers of Japan
Recently, Gege Akutami officially confirmed that Yuji Itadori is still alive in JJK. On top of that, Gege also confirmed that Yuji is still quite young and that his body has aged differently from the other sorcerers. Most importantly, however, Gege Akutami revealed to the fans that Yuji Itadori is now the strongest in Japan. This was confirmed directly by the sorcerers' organization, as they look to establish a deterrent against the Simurians, who had Dabura on their side. To match Dabura, nothing less than the absolute strongest is required on the side of the sorcerers, and everyone recognizes that to be Yuji Itadori. This officially confirms that Yuji Itadori has taken over from Gojo Satoru as the strongest.
Japan Is Looking For Yuji Itadori
Although Yuji is known to be the strongest sorcerer in Japan, there is another problem that must be tackled, and that's locating him. For some reason, Yuji Itadori is currently missing and he hasn't been seen for years, by the looks of it. At some point, Yuji left the sorcerer organization and decided to live alone. He hasn't been seen since then. Why Yuji left the sorcerers and what his goal is at the moment remains to be seen. Thankfully, Japan has already started looking for Yuji Itadori since they can't waste even a single second.
The only time I had to run for my life before was when I faced him. — Takeda on Yuji Itadori
Yuji Itadori Might've Surpassed Gojo And Sukuna
When it comes to Yuji Itadori’s powers, fans know that he's the strongest right now, but at the same time, it must also be said that he could've surpassed both Gojo and Sukuna. This is quite possible as he has access to two different cursed techniques in Shrine and Blood Manipulation. On top of that, he also has access to RCT, Domain Amplification, and just about every major power that he could need. Yuji has grown tremendously since Shinjuku Showdown and the world recognizes him at a level similar to Gojo. Given that Dabura is a Sukuna-level threat, it's only a given that Yuji will be as strong, if not even stronger to balance things out.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 11 will be released on November 16, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
