Of course, readers want JJK to continue for a long time, but, now it has been announced that the story is going to end very soon as well. In fact, many fans believe that this announcement from Gege has come from absolutely nowhere, and many others are finding it very hard to swallow as well.

Jujutsu Kaisen's Current Arc

  • Jujutsu Kaisen Is Currently In Shinjuku Showdown

Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen is in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, which started as an incredibly exciting arc in which the final battle against the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, was being dealt with. In this exciting arc, fans got to see an incredible battle brewing between Gojo and Sukuna at first. Of course, this was a battle that fans had wanted to see right from the beginning of the story, and one that they did not get until the very end. Yet, when they did finally get to see this battle, it lived up to all expectations and more. Gojo's battle against Sukuna lit up every manga chapter, and was, quite easily, the most exciting phase of the entire story. Gojo did incredibly well against Sukuna, and had it not been for the 10 Shadows Technique, he would most likely have won the battle. However, in the end, Gojo ended up losing, and he lost his life in the process as well.

You were magnificent, Gojo Satoru! I shall never forget you! – Sukuna

This marked the end of the first act of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and from there onwards, fans got to see the other exciting battles in this saga. Once the sorcerers knew that they had lost their biggest advantage, they launched a raid against the king of curses. This raid was incredibly intense, and saw many powerful individuals face up against Sukuna, all showcasing their unique abilities that they had gained along the way. Sukuna was, of course, at the peak of his powers, and it was very difficult for them to hold their own against him. Little by little, however, the sorcerers did manage to whittle down his defenses, and eventually, that brought the fans to where they are right now. Jujutsu Kaisen is currently very exciting, as Yuji Itadori has awakened the Shrine cursed technique. This technique is very similar to that of Sukuna, and essentially, it has seen him grow tremendously in the story.

Yuji, the protagonist of JJK, has unlocked many powerful abilities in the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

If that wasn't enough, Yuji also obtained an incredibly powerful technique, which fans know to be Domain Expansion. Domain expansions are the pinnacle of cursed techniques, which are imbued in barriers, and now, Yuji has access to one as well. He recently opened his domain against Sukuna, and inside this domain, this battle is finally going to be settled.

Gege Confirms Jujutsu Kaisen Is Ending In 5 Chapters

JJK’s Tentative Ending Date Is September 29, 2024

Right now, JJK is dealing with the battle between Sukuna and Yuji Itadori. This battle is incredibly exciting, and it is safe to say that it is one that sees both Sukuna and Yuji go all out. Given that most sorcerers have fallen and this battle has essentially come down to a 1v1, fans always knew that this was going to be the last fight of the story. That is exactly what seems to be the case, as the author of JJK, Gege Akutami, has recently announced that the story is now set to conclude. In a shocking announcement that was made on August 19th, 2024, it was clarified to the fans that Jujutsu Kaisen would be ending in the next five chapters.

This announcement came out of absolutely nowhere, and even though fans knew that something exciting would be announced for the story, nobody had predicted that JJK would end so soon. Of course, the author of the story did clarify previously that he wanted his manga to end in 2024, long before Jump Festa 2025. However, no fan expected him to wrap it up in just five chapters, and it is safe to say that this has shocked the vast majority of the fan base. Here is what Gege Akutami had to say about the end of JJK:

“The story will end in 5 more chapters. I am only able to end the story in the way I wanted, thanks to the support and cooperation of all my readers. Thank you!! I am working hard to create a final chapter that will (probably) satisfy as many people as possible who have supported "Jujutsu Kaisen". So everyone!! Please bear with me!!”

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Confirms Sukuna's Fall In Shinjuku Showdown Is Close

Sukuna has endured a long fight in Shinjuku. His end is near in JJK.

By

It is clear for the fans to see that Jujutsu Kaisen will end with the battle of Yuji and Sukuna, which will likely wrap up within the next chapter or two. The next chapters will then focus on the aftermath of the story, as that is how things should be. As things stand, Jujutsu Kaisen will end on September 29, 2024. This is subject to change, depending on how many breaks Gege takes. However, still, just five chapters are way less to wrap up this story efficiently; at least, that is what the vast majority of the fans believe.

How Will Jujutsu Kaisen End?

Jujutsu Kaisen Will End With The Defeat Of Ryomen Sukuna

Right now, it is very difficult for fans to predict how Jujutsu Kaisen is going to end. All one can say is that the story has left behind too many loose ends that the author will most definitely need more than five chapters to wrap up. As things stand, the battle between Yuji and Sukuna is going to continue, and it will likely conclude with Sukuna's defeat. Whether or not Yuji will survive this battle remains to be seen. What fans can say for sure is that Megumi is likely going to survive this battle. If that were to happen, then, Jujutsu Kaisen could see Megumi being the sole survivor of the group at the end of the story. Either that, or Yuji and Megumi will be the only ones who are left alive.

Could it be that you pity me, boy? – Sukuna

Similarly, if JJK is ending in five chapters, then, there is absolutely no way that the merger is going to happen. This means that the plot line is completely going to be discarded, which is another shocking decision by the author, despite having built it up for so long. And at the same time, the many exciting setups that the author had created himself will not be fulfilled either. All fans will get to see is likely Sukuna's defeat, and with that, society coming back to normal as it once was. Nothing will change from the beginning of the series, other than the fall of the King of Curses, and that is all that the fans have to find this happiness in.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 267, is set to be August 25, 2024.
