This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Gojo Satoru was the face of JJK for quite a long time. He was not only the most beloved character in the series but also represented Japan as their strongest sorcerer, which meant that he was almost a deterrent against any other force. Even against the King of Curses, Gojo was Japan's best bet, and when their battle finally happened, Gojo eventually lost his life. However, he also paved the way for a new generation to take the lead.

Since the end of JJK, fans have been wondering who the strongest sorcerer truly was. There have been hints of Yuji being the strongest after Gojo, but now, with Yuji missing, it seems Gege Akutami has set up Japan's next Gojo level sorcerer already. This sorcerer is none other than Yuka Okkotsu, the granddaughter of Yuta.

Gojo Satoru Was The Strongest Sorcerer In JJK

Gojo Satoru Was The Strongest Sorcerer In JJK

In the original JJK series, Satoru was quite easily the strongest sorcerer. He was born in the Gojo clan, but under very special circumstances. Gojo had access to the special Limitless Cursed Technique and was even born with the Six Eyes to add to that. This combination came back into existence for the first time in 400 years, and Gojo's mere birth shook the world itself.

Over the years, Gojo trained relentlessly and brought out his maximum power, which he then used against the King of Curses, Sukuna. It goes without saying that Gojo was Sukuna's equal, however, due to the fact that Sukuna had Ten Shadows at his disposal, Gojo could not win against him. He ended up losing his life in the battle against Ryomen Sukuna, but he certainly did pave the way for the victory of the next generation.

Yuka Okkotsu Is Currently Japan's Strongest Sorcerer

69 years after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown, Japan now has a next Gojo-level sorcerer, and that is none other than Yuka Okkotsu, the younger sister of Tsurugi and the granddaughter of Yuta and Maki. This was confirmed by the author himself when the conflict between the Simurians and the humans got worse in Japan.

I think it was during the Edo period...or maybe Keicho? I forget, but the heads of the respective households killed each other in a fight before the aristocracy. Back then, the leaders were a Limitless Cursed Technique user with the Six Eyes like me for the Gojo Family, and a Ten Shadows technique user like Megumi for the Zenin Family. You get what I'm trying to say? — Gojo Satoru to Megumi Fushiguro

As the Simurians asked for a duel between the strongest sorcerers of the two sides, Japan chose Yuka Okkotsu as their best bet. The main reason behind this was the fact that Yuka has access to one of the most special cursed techniques to exist, and that is the Ten Shadows Technique.

Yuka Has Access to The Ten Shadows Technique

As is quite clear in the story, Yuka Okotsu was born with the power of the Ten Shadows Technique. This means that Megumi most likely died before her birth. Yuka being born with the Ten Shadows Technique gives her the power of the Divine General Mahoraga, and on top of that, all the other interesting Shikigami as well.

Above all, Mahoraga becomes her biggest ally in battle, given that it is a calamity that can adapt to any phenomenon that exists. Mahoraga played a significant role in the death of Gojo Satoru, and without him, Sukuna most certainly would not have won the battle. For Yuka to have such a weapon in her arsenal makes her tremendously powerful. But, what's even more surprising is that Yuka has more than just Mahoraga in her arsenal.

Yuka Can Become The Next Gojo With Rika And Ten Shadows

Rika as a powerful Special Grade Cursed Spirit staring menacingly at Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen.

It has already been confirmed in JJK Modulo that Rika belongs to none other than Yuka Okkotsu. Even though the ring is being kept by her brother, she will get access to it eventually, which means that Yuka will have access to both Rika, which would give her the Copy Cursed Technique, as well as the Ten Shadows Technique.

With two incredibly powerful calamities at her disposal, Yuka will be a Gojo level sorcerer and she might actually even go beyond his level. It absolutely must not be forgotten that Yuka has also made a Binding Vow recently and this allows her to increase her power significantly in exchange for something.

There's something that Earthling Sorcerers use as a last resort when their lives are on the line. It's called a Binding Vow. Yuka has been searching for something worth staking her life on all this time. She thought since she was gonna die anyway, she might as well for for someone else's sake. — Tsurugi on Yuka Okkotsu

What exactly Yuka has given up isn't known yet, but what fans do know is that she is much stronger than before. With all these power-ups, Yuka will most certainly become Japan's next Gojo.

Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15 will be released on December 14, 2025.
