In a recent report, it was confirmed that Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen will be on the cover of Jump GIGA 2026 Winter with a brand-new illustration. While it may not be much, it is a positive takeaway. It shows that Jujutsu Kaisen is still a big name, and it is enough to command the attention of fans. It is worth pointing out that the artwork is in no way proof of Jujutsu Kaisen returning, but at the same time, it shouldn't be completely ignored.
Despite his troubled health, Gege Akutami is already working for Shueisha again. Presently, he is writing the story for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which is the sequel to the original. The manga features the children of Yuta and Maki, who try to forge a path for themselves. The story is exciting and features a lot of new characters. However, the manga hasn't truly taken off, but that's fine as a lot of people are still unaware of its existence. With time, JJK: Modulo will become mainstream, and more people will start reading. Another reason behind Modulo's limited popularity is that a lot of people haven't finished reading the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

While the JJK manga has ended, the anime is still ongoing, and it will likely take another four or five years to end. Recently, it was confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will air in January 2026. The news of Jujutsu Kaisen's return was music to fans' ears, as they had been waiting for more than two years for the anime to make a comeback. However, before the anime returns, a compilation movie will be released. The movie will cover the entirety of the Shibuya Incident arc and the two episodes from the Culling Game arc. It will first release in Japan and later in the United States. The movie will be just two hours in length.
JJK Season 3 will be divided into two parts, and the first part will air sometime in January 2026. At the moment, there is no news on when the second part will be released. But fans can expect an update from MAPPA when the first part concludes. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's episode count is also unclear, but it's likely to be over 20 episodes, with each part having an equal number.
Some fans may be upset with the anime being divided into two parts, but they should remember that it's for the greater good. The studio's staff has to work a lot in order to maintain high levels of animation. If they don't get a proper rest in between, then it could negatively impact their health. Besides, MAPPA is notorious for overworking its staff, so it's always nice to see them get enough rest.

It has already been confirmed that Oshi no Ko Season 3, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2, Hell's Paradise Season 2, and Fire Force Season 4 Part 2 will be releasing in January 2026. All these titles are famous, and they have massive fan bases. Needless to say, all of them will be competing against each other.
