Fans of Gojo know very well that they won't get an update on him, given that he died in Shinjuku after his battle against Ryomen Sukuna. However, that certainly doesn't mean Gojo Satoru can't return in Jujutsu Kaisen in other ways. Fans know very well that Gojo is incredibly important to the overall world of JJK, so much so that even after his death, he had to be mentioned in the very first chapter of JJK Modulo. Now, it seems that Gege might have even bigger plans for the Strongest in the sequel series.

Gojo can't just get up from his grave 68 years later and act like nothing happened.

The only way for Gojo to return is through reincarnation. This might seem outlandish to some, but the fact is that reincarnation officially exists in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. When Sukuna was in his mother's womb, he chose to eat his brother to survive and avoid being born as a twin. His brother might've died physically, but his soul remained, and this was confirmed by Sukuna himself. According to Sukuna, his soul wandered around in space for years before it eventually reincarnated as Wasuke Itadori, Yuji's very own grandfather. If Sukuna's brother's soul can reincarnate, then so can Gojo Satoru’s very own soul.

Gojo's Rebirth Theme Would Come Full Circle

Gojo has already experienced a rebirth after his near-death experience against Toji Fushiguro. Now, it is entirely possible that Gojo will do a complete rebirth, because that would make sense for his character. This rebirth can happen in two ways.

Either he is reborn in the Gojo Clan, which means that he would once again inherit the Six Eyes and the Limitless Cursed Technique. Or, he can be born as someone else entirely, and a very good candidate is Maru, the alien. Fans have been quick to point out the similarities between Maru and Gojo in terms of their nature, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he would be the perfect person for Gojo to reincarnate as, especially given that he's a main character in the story.

Maru also has a brother, who could be the reincarnation of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. It seems the two share a similar dynamic to Gojo and Sukuna, and that also backs up the idea of Maru being a reincarnation of Gojo Satoru after his fall in Shinjuku Showdown.

Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the biggest shonen series in the world. The manga, which ended in late 2024, can be read online for free.
