Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Reveals His Original Plans For King of Curses Sukuna
Gege had some interesting plans for Sukuna originally, and it didn't involve Yuji in JJK.
It goes without saying that this fight was the one that the fans wanted to see the most out of all battles in JJK, and even though what came after was centered around the main character, this clash remains to be the very best one in the whole story. Naturally, fans are wondering to this day who the stronger of the two is, and Gege's recent comments further hype up Gojo Satoru.
How Gojo Lost To Sukuna
- Gojo Lowered His Guard Vs Sukuna
- Gojo's Loss Was Down To A Simple Mistake
When it comes to the battle between Gojo and Sukuna, fans know that this clash was absolutely incredible and that it offered a lot of exciting action. Throughout the battle, there were ups and downs, and the author made it quite clear for the fans to see that either of the two could've clinched the battle. There were moments where Sukuna was the dominant one, and other moments where Gojo had the upper hand in the battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Reveals The Most Broken Cursed Technique Of All Time
The most broken ability in JJK has been revealed, and its not the ability most fans are thinking of.
In the end, however, only one could emerge as the victor, and the plot demanded that Sukuna be the victor. This is simply down to the fact that Sukuna had to be beaten by Yuji Itadori, the main character, or else the story wouldn't have made any sense. But, while some assumed the reason for Sukuna's victory was his superior power, Gege has now confirmed that it was due to a lapse in concentration from Gojo. Here's what Gege had to say:
Q: “When did Sukuna make the Binding Vow to cut down Gojo?”
A: “Sometime after Kusakabe said he won. The reason he was cut down was also because he had let his guard down after destroying Mahoraga. By this point, Gojo thought Sukuna no longer had a way to bypass Limitless. Perhaps Gojo under normal circumstances would’ve been able to sense it and narrowly avoid fatality.”
Gege Confirms Normal Gojo Would've Dodged Sukuna's World Slash
Gojo Dodging The World Slash Is Bigger Than You Think
The fact that Sukuna fought Gojo using Megumi's body is proof of the fact that in his mind, this was the only way to take down Gojo. This is proven by the fact that Sukuna himself wasn't sure if he'd win this fight and that they were quite even. In fact, Sukuna even got shaky at the end of the battle when Gojo started entering the zone, and that basically implies that Gojo had a good chance of winning the battle. So, for Sukuna, the best way to win the battle was to find a way to bypass Gojo's Limitless and cut him down. But, that would've been impossible to do without Mahoraga. Eventually, Mahoraga allowed Sukuna to cut down Gojo in one fell swoop, by showing him how to expand the target of his technique. Gojo was successfully cut down with the World Slash, but Gege's recent comments changed everything.
Sukuna was only able to cut down Gojo because he thought he'd won the battle. According to Gege, normal Gojo would've sensed the slash and dodged it to avoid fatality. This is huge, because the slash that Sukuna sent at Gojo has no indicators. It was a slash fired using a Binding Vow that enabled him to fire it off without a hand sign or incantation. This was a one-off attack, and Gege saying Gojo could've dodged this means that all the other World Slashes would've been dodged by him far more easily. In other words, with Gojo at the peak of his game and Sukuna all bruised up, had Gojo dodged the attack, he would've definitely won.
Unfortunately, the plot required Sukuna to win, which is why Gojo was nerfed because otherwise, there is no reason as to why Gojo couldn't have dodged the World Splitting Dismantle.
