Gege Reveals His Original Plans For Gojo’s Ending

Gojo Dying Was Planned From The Start

Jujutsu Kaisen fans were eagerly waiting for the recent JJK event that was to be held in Tokyo, Japan, and finally, it happened two days ago. There, Gege revealed some very interesting information about the final arc. Gege Akutami, the creator of the series had promised a Q&A, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Most of the questions covered were very interesting. He especially focused on the character of Gojo Satoru, the series’ most popular character by far.

One of the most interesting questions concerning his original plans for the character of Gojo Satoru, especially referencing his sudden death at the end. Based on what Gege Akutami has said, his original plan for Gojo Satoru was always for him to die. This means that Gojo’s death was planned a long time ago.

Additionally, Gege also said in the past that his plans for the series’s end were for either one character out of the main four to die, or for only one to survive the series. This implies that the one character who was supposed to die was always Gojo. Even in the scenario where only one survivor remained, Gojo was also destined to die.

“In all the heavens and the earth, I alone am the Honored One” — Gojo Satoru

This is definitely sad for Gojo fans, as it means there was no hope for a happy ending for Gojo in Gege’s mind from the beginning of the series, but it also makes sense, as Gojo is so overpowered that he had to be removed from the story one way or another.

On a separate note, fans are also enraged by the manner of Gojo’s death, and many were disappointed when Gege revealed in this same event that the only reason Gojo died against Sukuna was because he let his guard down. In other words, his death was totally preventable.

Gege Also Reveals His Original Plans For Megumi and Sukuna

Sukuna Targeting Megumi was Preplanned

Gojo aside, Gege also revealed plenty of interesting information concerning Sukuna and Megumi. As fans know, Sukuna took over Megumi’s body and left Yuji, which is what allowed him to take down Gojo as he now had access to Mahoraga.
