Gege Akutami, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, is working incredibly hard on the sequel series, JJK Modulo, and it goes without saying that the story is going incredibly well at the moment. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is living up to all fans’ expectations, and even though the old characters aren't around at the moment, it's still delivering quality week in week out, and fans are eagerly waiting for it to hit even higher heights, especially now that a new character that could've surpassed Gojo and Sukuna has been introduced.

With incredibly exciting characters, and a threat that, on the surface, rivals Ryomen Sukuna, JJK Modulo promises to be a delightful yet chaotic experience for the fans. More than that, based on the recent performance of the Simurians, it is now clear that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s main villain, Dabura, is actually the strongest, and that at this moment, he's above the level of Gojo and Sukuna.

Immediately after the threat of the Simurians was revealed in JJK Modulo, fans were easily able to tell that the next big threat after Ryomen Sukuna would be them. Things became even more interesting when Gege Akutami himself officially revealed that the power of the Simurian King, Dabura, is on the level of Ryomen Sukuna.

This came as a shock to many fans, but the most recent events of the manga have practically confirmed that not only is Dabura a Sukuna-level threat, but his overall strength might be higher than that of both Sukuna and Gojo.
This can easily be extrapolated by looking at Maru’s power. Based on what the story has told the fans so far, Maru is nowhere close to being the strongest of the Simurians. But, his strength is absolutely astonishing. Even a Grade 1 sorcerer proved to be no match for Maru and he wasn't even going all out. In fact, even a Special Grade like Jogo would've been absolutely no match for Maru, when taking into consideration the fact that his cursed technique is so broken that it can change the natural laws of order themselves. If Maru is this strong, then one shudders at the thought of Dabura's strength.

Dabura Is Far Stronger Than Maru
Dabura's Power Must Be Broken
Dabura is canonically the most powerful of the Simurians in Jujutsu Kaisen. If Maru's power is on the level of the strongest of Special Grades, then, Dabura must be on the level of Sukuna and Gojo, and potentially even higher. Maru's cursed technique alone rivals that of Gojo and is far better than Sukuna's very own Shrine. Dabura's must be even stronger and that's something that fans need to keep in mind. It's also wise to remember that all Simurians innately have the power of using cursed energy, while not everyone in Japan has control over this power.

Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the biggest shonen series in the world. The manga, which ended in late 2024, can be read online for free. It is available to access on Manga Plus, where this series used to be made available weekly. Jujutsu Kaisen currently has a sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 6 will be released on October 12, 2025.
