Fans have seen quite a lot of exciting sorcerers take the center stage in JJK over the years, and quite a lot of them have actually been brought back in the Culling Game Arc.
Here, fans got a proper glimpse at what they could do, and it is safe to say that those who existed long ago had some frightening powers up their sleeve. With a plethora of individuals to pick from, only a few can stand out as the very best of the Ancient Sorcerers in JJK.
Ryu Ishigori
Rio Ishigori is a very powerful individual whom fans saw quite a lot in the Culling Game Arc. At some point, he made a contract with Kenjaku that allowed him to be resurrected in the Modern Age. Ryu Ishigori held tremendous powers and fans could see that when he fought against the likes of Yuta Okkotsu. But, against Sukuna, he could not stand his ground. Still, he was an impressive individual and his cursed energy output was certainly magnificent, to say the least.
Takako Uro
Takako Uno existed long ago in the Heian era of JJK. She was one of the strongest individuals back then, and her cursed technique of Sky Manipulation saw to it that she gave trouble to anyone standing in her path. Other than that, she was also a ridiculously powerful user of cursed energy, in general. Her cursed energy output was absolutely sensational, and on top of that, she could use advanced techniques, such as Domain Expansion as well. Even though her domain expansion remains unknown at this point, fans know that she did wield this skill.
Angel
Angel might not be physically the strongest, however, fans know for a fact that she is a user of one of the strongest techniques in JJK. Essentially, Angel has the ability to extinguish any technique using her Technique Extinguishment innate ability. With Jacob's Ladder, she would even be able to kill Sukuna, had she not fallen for Sukuna's trap, that is.
Jacob's Ladder is the peak of her powers, and it can essentially cleanse anyone with immense amounts of cursed energy.
Uraume
Uraume is one character that fans have seen quite a lot in JJK. They possess the cursed technique of Ice Formation, and they can certainly utilize it on a very high level. Their true strength isn't known. However, fans know for a fact that they can, at the very least, hold their own against some of the most talented individuals from the modern era, such as Hakari.
Uraume is extremely talented, and given that they have been by Sukuna's side for quite a while, one can deduce that they possess an immense level of strength, the vast majority of which is likely not even seen.
Kashimo
Kashimo, also known as the Lightning God, existed 400 years ago, and back then, he established himself as one of the strongest of all time. Kashimo possesses electrifying cursed energy, the reserves of which are incredibly high.
He's also a user of the Mythical Beast Amber Technique, which allows him to manifest any phenomenon produced by electricity. Against a weakened Sukuna, he showcased that he was truly very strong, and dominated. However, once Sukuna took his reincarnated form, he was done within a matter of seconds.
Yorozu
Fans know Yorozu to be a powerful individual from the Heian era, and she played a key role in the Culling Game Arc. She was seen reincarnating in Tsumiki's body in this arc, and then, fans got a proper glimpse of her skills. Yorozu who possessed the innate technique of Construction, and fans might remember that Mai had the same ability. In the case of Yorozu, however, she had trained this ability to the utmost best and this allowed her to wield her strength on a very high level.
She had also advanced her control over her techniques so much that she could even manifest a Domain Expansion. She ended up fighting Sukuna and could even have beaten him at the time.
Kenjaku
Kenjaku is one of the most heinous sorcerers that fans have seen in JJK. Using the power of his body-hopping technique, he has taken control of several individuals and gained their abilities over the years. The most significant body that he has controlled in the series is that of Suguru Geto.
This is the body that he was seen playing the role of a major antagonist in, and he certainly asserted great control over all of Geto's techniques. It is clear for the fans to see that he is one of the strongest sorcerers who come from an era before the modern age.
Ryomen Sukuna
Of course, of all the sorcerers who existed long before the modern age, Sukuna stands tall as the strongest. Sukuna was born during the Heian era, and he certainly lives up to the reputation of the strongest. Sukuna's strength is absolutely immense, and his control over cursed energy is magnificent.
In every single aspect of cursed energy manipulation, Sukuna excels like no other. The only individual who can match him is Gojo Satoru, and other than him, Sukuna is truly peerless.
