This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Over the last few years, Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the biggest anime and manga franchises in the whole world. This Weekly Shonen Jump hit has proven to be monumental, despite its original story having concluded in 2024. In 2025, the manga made a major return with a short sequel, known as Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Modulo is currently ongoing, but it's quickly reaching its conclusion.
After 2 Years, Jujutsu Kaisen Has The Perfect Replacement For Gojo Vs Sukuna
Gojo vs Sukuna was a legendary battle. Gege is setting up a new battle with similar grandeur in JJK Modulo.
Now nearing the end of this sequel manga, JJK's original protagonist makes a comeback. Yuji Itadori finally made his grand return in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19, and fans are hyped. Not only is Yuji back, but he's stronger than ever before. Fans can't wait for him to take on his biggest battle yet and prove himself once and for all as humanity's true strongest sorcerer.
Yuji Itadori Mysteriously Vanished In Jujutsu Kaisen
- After the death of his friends, Yuji decided to leave
- Yuji was last seen at Hana’s funeral
The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga is a very intriguing sequel series created by Gege Akutami, following the ending of the original series. For the most part, this manga does not focus on old characters. Instead, the story takes place 68 years into the future.
In that sense, Jujutsu Kaisen's original cast have either died or become too old to be a major part of the story. Despite the absence of his old characters, Gege has managed to weave a very compelling new cast of characters into the story. While Gege has not brought back the vast majority of old characters, Yuji Itadori is involved in the narrative of Modulo.
It was revealed recently that Yuji Itadori vanished quite a few years ago. This revelation followed after it was highlighted that he doesn't age anymore. The reason as to why that's the case is unknown, but it has caused him a lot of distress.
Over the last few years, Yuji has had to watch his friends die one after another. This burden of loss got too much for him to bear and he decided to simply leave his old life behind. Previously, the last known location that Yuji Itadori was seen at was Hana Kurusu’s funeral, as stated by Yuji's own old friend, Nobara. But now, Yuji has shown up once again in the story, and it's getting very exciting.
Yuji Itadori Returns In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19
- Yuji is currently in Tokyo trying to stop the fights
After a very long absence from the story, Yuji Itadori has finally made an official return in the current timeline of Modulo. Yuji Itadori specifically reappeared in Tokyo in the latest chapter 19 of the manga. Naturally, fans were excited to see Yuji return, and most are delighted to see their beloved Hero from Shinjuku return once again. Fans, however, have yet to see his full face after his return.
Yuji is definitely a character who was slow to grow for a large part of the original series, despite being its main character. Until the final arc, Yuji didn't receive many power-ups, but now, things are different. Yuji Itadori has reappeared stronger than ever, and his latest abilities clearly show that. In fact, with his debut alone, Yuji demonstrated his latest power-up. His display is only going to get better in Modulo, and his overall character will certainly benefit from this return.
Yuji Reveals His Newest Blood Manipulation Power Up
- With Convergence, Yuji quickly takes on a building full of sorcerers
Yuji Itadori has not always been the strongest character around in Jujutsu Kaisen. After all, before the Sukuna battle, Yuji was actually quite underwhelming in combat, especially when compared to other talented sorcerers around him, such as Yuta Okkotsu or Maki Zenin.
However, during the Sukuna battle, Yuji unlocked a lot more of his potential. With that being said, Yuji's level back then is nothing in comparison to where he is now. In Modulo, upon Yuji's return, Gege was quick to showcase just how much he's grown in power.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19, Yuji showcased how he has become the greatest Blood Manipulation user in the whole story. With his Piercing Blood, an ability that was especially used by his older brother Choso, Yuji was able to take down an entire building filled with sorcerers and Simurians.
68 Years After Gojo's Fall, Gege Akutami Confirms The New Strongest Sorcerer In Jujutsu Kaisen
Gojo was Japan's strongest sorcerer, but that isn't the case anymore. Japan has a new number 1 in JJK Modulo.
For those who don't know, using Piercing Blood requires the usage of Convergence, but Yuji was unable to do that in the Shinjuku arc. As such, Choso had to create Convergence for him to use the power. Now, however, not only has Yuji mastered the power, but even evolved it.
While most of the time, a skilled user of Piercing Blood can only use up to three arrows at once, following one trajectory, Yuji produced countless arrows easily and each followed a unique trajectory, subduing a whole building of sorcerers in a single move.
Undoubtedly, this is the greatest feat achieved through Blood Manipulation in JJK, and this is Yuji nowhere near his full power. Fans have only seen a small glimpse of what he is truly capable of doing at the moment.
Yuji’s Return Sets Up JJK’s Biggest Fight Yet
- Yuji has to fight Dabura and save Yuka Okkotsu
Yuji Itadori has not returned without a reason in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. Primarily, Gege Akutami has brought him back to help humans fight against the current existential threat that they're facing. As fans who have followed Modulo know, Japan is facing a major crisis as aliens, known as the Simurians, want to settle in Tokyo and completely ban the exorcism of Cursed Spirits, which absolutely cannot be allowed.
While discussions were going smoothly at one point, a conflict erupted after Cross was shot, and the battle of the strongest began to see which side would take over Tokyo. Dabura is the strongest and the leader of the Simurians. Against him, humanity had to pull out its trump card, and that was Yuka Okkotsu. Yuka summoned Mahoraga, but it is clear now that Mahoraga is not enough. Dabura will soon surpass Mahoraga and destroy him.
With that, it would seem that Yuka's death is inevitable, but that is where Yuji steps in. Yuji Itadori will be the one to save not only Yuka, but all of humanity. At the same time, Yuji will also likely broker a peace with Simurians, and by doing that, Gege is setting up the biggest fight yet in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Through this battle between Yuji and Dabura, it's possible that he will be able to achieve his ultimate goal, and that's to die surrounded by the ones he loves — something he was unable to achieve due to his odd immortality. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see where Gege takes Yuji's character next.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of Shinjuku Showdown.
