This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
When Jujutsu Kaisen ended, many fans thought they would never see another powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer emerge after the likes of Gojo Satoru, Ryomen Sukuna, and Yuji Itadori. Unexpectedly, Gege Akutami quickly expanded the world with Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and with it comes new and powerful Jujutsu Sorcerers with intriguing techniques and abilities no one ever expected to see as soon as possible.
Just recently, a Grade 1-level sorcerer was introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and their mysterious abilities instantly caught the attention of fans not only because of their overwhelming strength but also because their abilities remind them of powerful anime characters and their iconic Stands from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Introduces Masaki Takeda as a New Grade 1 Sorcerer
Masaki Takeda Fought Yuji Itadori in the Past
- Masaki Takeda's skills are on par with a Grade 1 level sorcerer, according to Tsurugi.
- Masaki Takeda escaped from Yuji Itadori to survive.
Masaki Takeda, otherwise known as Masayoshi, is the newest Grade 1 level sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. At first glance, he looks harmless and vulnerable due to his youthful exterior, but behind his unassuming appearance lies a cunning and sadistic elderly curse user capable of overwhelming the three main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo in a fight.
Judging by Masaki’s elderly appearance, he likely belongs to the same generation as the characters in the original series. And speaking of the characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, Masaki even encountered Yuji Itadori in the past. While his experience with Yuji isn’t fully revealed, the fact that it was the only time he had to escape just to survive suggests that Masaki is a sorcerer not to be underestimated.
True enough, Masaki’s skills and abilities are on par with Grade 1 level sorcerers. He could have been an asset for the Jujutsu society with his impressive skills and abilities, but time and age stripped away his softness, turning him into a ruthless and terrifying curse user whose methods are as unforgiving as his power.
Masaki Takeda Uses Shikigami in Battle
Masaki Takeda Overpowers Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu
Masaki Takeda’s shikigami looks like a Stand from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure with its unique design and stylish and lethal attacks, much to the surprise of fans. Even the name of Masaki’s technique, Maternal Wraith’s Fury: Marmalade Boy, shows the unique synergy between Masaki and his Guardian Spirit, allowing him to overwhelm opponents and control the battlefield in his favor.
Armed with deadly needles and thread, Masaki and his Guardian Spirit overpower Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu at the same time. With his impeccable shape-shifting abilities, combined with the Guardian Spirit’s attacks, Masaki executes flawless combos as if his needles move like extensions of his will. On top of that, he is intelligent and strategic, capable of outsmarting Tsurugi and Yuka.
Saving a life feels no different from taking a life. It won't move you at all.—Masaki Takeda to Tsurugi Okkotsu
If only an unconscious Maru had not intervened in Masaki’s fight with the Okkotsu siblings, he would have likely defeated Yuka and Tsurugi without much difficulty. Fighting a powerful alien whose cursed technique rivals his own and exudes the same terrifying aura as Yuji Itadori proves too much for Masaki, especially since he struggles to maintain control over his Guardian Spirit while confronting Maru. Still, it’s impressive how Masaki survived Maru’s simultaneous attacks and escaped in the end.
Masaki Takeda Is Weaker Than Most Grade 1 Sorcerers
Masaki Takeda Is Grade 1, But Senile
The sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are weaker than the sorcerers from the original Jujutsu Kaisen series, and Masaki Takeda is no exception. In comparison to the past grade 1 level sorcerers such as Nanami Kento, Aoi Todo, Mei Mei, and Masamichi Yaga, Masaki falls short, as his cursed energy and raw strength, while impressive and deadly, cannot fully rival the skill and adaptability of the past grade 1 sorcerers, at least for now.
In addition, Masaki Takeda has grown old and senile, and this senility could compromise his control over his Shikigami against powerful opponents, much like how Maru completely overpowered him with his cursed technique. Fans even believe that Masaki is suffering from dementia, which might explain his erratic behavior and occasional lapses during his fight with the Okkotsu siblings. Even so, Masaki remains stronger than Yuka and Tsurugi, reaffirming his status as a Grade 1 sorcerer.
