Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has gotten a stunning reception from all the fans worldwide, even though the series raised doubts when it was first announced. Sequel series are hardly ever as good as the original ones, and it's very rare for a mangaka to actually surpass their original work with a sequel. That said, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is an exception. Even though the series features completely new characters and even has a different vibe to it, it actually holds the potential to surpass the original Jujutsu Kaisen series.

68 years later in the world of JJK, sorcerers are active as ever, but the era has shifted. Gojo Satoru isn't around to save Japan anymore, but that doesn't mean the country doesn't have its own bunch of new, strong sorcerers. So far, Gege Akutami hasn't revealed any Special Grade sorcerers or curse users to the fans. However, he has clearly introduced two new characters with the potential to reach those levels. One of them, Yuka Okkotsu, is going to be the next Gojo Satoru of Japan, simply because of the stronger connection to Yuta, who in turn was a distant relative of Gojo Satoru through Michizane Sugawara.

When it comes to pure sorcery, the only next-gen character that stands a chance of becoming the next Gojo Satoru is Yuka Okkotsu. This might seem unfair to the likes of Tsurugi Okkotsu at first, but fans need to look at how Gege Akutami set up Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu in the series. Both Yuka and Tsurugi are the grandchildren of Maki and Yuta, but they both have different idols. It just so happens that Yuka’s idol relates to Gojo Satoru more than that of Tsurugi.

For those who might've forgotten, Yuta Okkotsu was the official protege of Gojo Satoru in Jujutsu Kaisen. He was known to have an absolutely immense supply of Cursed Energy, even more so than that of Gojo Satoru himself. According to Gojo, Yuta and he were connected through Michizane Sugawara, their distant ancestor, and one of the three vengeful spirits of Japan. Because Yuta was related to Gojo by blood, he was also able to lead the Gojo clan in his master's stead for quite some time.

Now that Yuta Okkotsu is dead, his successor has already been established by Gege Akutami, and that's Yuka Okkotsu. Just like Yuta, Yuka has an immense amount of cursed energy, and she will eventually get access to the power of Rika as well. Her proficiency with cursed energy is what will make her the next Gojo Satoru.

Yuka Could Become The Strongest Sorcerer In Japan
Tsurugi Is More Like Maki
As far as the next strongest sorcerers in Japan go, Yuka Okkotsu will likely reach the very top in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Of course, Tsurugi is up there too and he too has the potential to reach the top, but Tsurugi wants to be like Maki, and Maki was weaker than Yuta Okkotsu. If Gege follows the original idea, then Yuka should surpass Tsurugi after she gets access to Rika and awakens her domain expansion.
It is still likelier that Tsurugi will be Yuka's equal, because these siblings are written to always grow together. In that case, Tsurugi Okkotsu will likely far surpass Maki Zenin, but due to his lack of cursed energy and sorcery skills, it is still Yuka who will be considered to be the strongest sorcerer.
Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the biggest shonen series in the world. The manga, which ended in late 2024, can be read online for free. It is available to access on Manga Plus, where this series used to be made available weekly. Jujutsu Kaisen currently has a sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9 will be released on November 2, 2025.
