Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Might Be Pushed to 2027

  • Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game is not listed as a 2026 release in Toho's report.
  • Not being listed doesn't rule out the season premiering next year.

Recently, Toho, a major Japanese production and distribution company involved in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, released a new financial report. The document includes their anime lineup for the near future. While Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game is featured, no release window was revealed. For instance, Mushoku Tensei is listed for April 2026, and My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 is listed for 2026, but Jujutsu Kaisen is only listed as "production planned."

This suggests either that they have not decided on a release window yet or that they cannot or do not want to reveal this information for now, even to investors. Since Toho is a public company, it has to publicly share periodic financial reports, and the company is aware that information from these reports will be shared by news outlets, so they may have decided not to include a release window. In any case, there is a chance that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will only be released in 2027 or even later.

Shinjuku Showdown Arc

The Culling Game Arc is the penultimate arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, showing Yuji Itadori and the others joining the eponymous Culling Game, a jujutsu battle royale where "players" must kill one another. This arc lasts from Chapter 159 to Chapter 221 of the original manga. Kenjaku planned the Culling Game for centuries, but his true motivations are unknown.

Battle scenes are on a whole different level.

— Junya Enoki (Yuji's V.A.)

While Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game wasn't officially announced as a TV anime last year, an official panel at Anime Expo suggested that it will indeed be the third season of the series. The main cast is seemingly returning to voice their characters, but the main staff has yet to be confirmed. There is a fair chance that Jujutsu Kaisen will follow a similar path as Demon Slayer and adapt the final arc in a movie or movie trilogy format.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English and other languages.
