This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is one of the hottest manga series to date, especially with how it always finds ways to reference Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses himself. From the name of the Simurian ship that carried the Rumelians to Earth to Dabura being a Sukuna-level threat, JJK Modulo and Gege Akutami clearly have no intention of ever forgetting Ryomen Sukuna.

With all these references and all the familiar faces appearing in the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, it’s only natural for many fans to wonder whether Ryomen Sukuna could still return in Modulo. Fans have seen Mahito, Nobara, Yuji, and Ui Ui, raising questions about who else from the original series might follow. As fans know, Sukuna died at the hands of Yuji Itadori, leaving nothing but one mummified finger that keeps the possibility of his revival alive.

Ryomen Sukuna Does Not Appear in JJK Modulo

There’s No Sign of Sukuna So Far

  • Ryomen Sukuna is still absent in JJK Modulo.
  • Sukuna's replacement is Dabura when it comes to threat.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has already released 15 chapters of writing, yet there is still no sighting of Ryomen Sukuna, despite calls from fans around the world to bring him back as soon as possible. Seemingly, as a form of compensation, the JJK sequel never fails in giving Easter eggs related to Sukuna, which keeps his presence alive and fuels speculation about whether his role in the modern Jujutsu World is truly over.

In Sukuna’s absence, his replacement has already emerged, and it’s none other than Dabura Karaba, who equals Sukuna at threat level. Just like Sukuna, Dabura has an overwhelming presence, in addition to a busted cursed technique. While Sukuna has Shrine, Dabura’s cursed technique is so alien that its name couldn’t be pronounced in any human language. As revealed in JJK Modulo Chapter 15, Dabura’s CT is a combination of his killing intent and mass, and it's incredibly overpowered.

Jujutsu Kaisen Sukuna Replacements Dabura

Despite Dabura’s presence, Ryomen Sukuna is greatly missed in JJK Modulo, especially his feats, which no ordinary sorcerer or curse user can simply accomplish. And with the raging battle between Yuka and Dabura set in the same place where Sukuna once unleashed his unmatched power, the void left by the King of Curses is difficult to ignore.

Sukuna’s Last Finger Does Not Guarantee His Return

Sukuna’s Soul Is Destroyed

Ryomen Sukuna Jujutsu Kaisen Return

Before the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna’s last mummified finger continued to attract attention and concern, as Yuji Itadori kept it as a talisman, much like when the Occult Club first stumbled upon it. Instead of destroying it for good, Sukuna’s last finger still exists, almost as if it’s waiting for another person to stumble upon it and eat it, repeating the same chain of events that once bound Sukuna to Yuji.

However, that may not be the case. After all, the last finger lacks the power to sustain Sukuna’s soul, effectively making it an incomplete fragment that cannot restore the King of Curses. As Yuji said in the final chapter of JJK, Sukuna’s last finger is no longer a threat, marking the end of his reign of terror. Not to mention, Sukuna accepted defeat graciously, choosing to move forward with Uraume instead of waiting for Yuji in the passageway of souls like Mahito.

Chill. It’s not dangerous anymore. It’s the perfect ward.—Yuji Itadori

As much as fans would love to see Ryomen Sukuna return in the same way he did in the original series, it seems unlikely given that his last finger lacks enough pull to bring him back. If Sukuna were to return in JJK Modulo, the only plausible way would be through reincarnation, which Sukuna himself mentioned before he disappeared.

Sukuna Could Return Through Reincarnation

Sukuna Could Come Back Better and Stronger

Say Hello To Jujutsu Kaisen's Official New Ryomen Sukuna

Reincarnation isn’t new in Jujutsu Kaisen, as the series previously explored characters who returned in different forms throughout the story. This means that it’s always possible for Gege Akutami to bring back Sukuna through reincarnation in JJK Modulo. Not only will it be a chance for Sukuna to redeem himself, but it will also allow him to experience life the way Yuji wants him to.

If Sukuna were to be reincarnated, he could return in a different form, whether as a girl or someone entirely unexpected. Who knows, maybe Gege Akutami has already reincarnated Sukuna, and the theory about Yuji raising him in secret is closer to reality than fans realize. After all, Yuji offered to become Sukuna’s vessel again, showing his willingness to connect with him forever.
