Gojo Satoru has become an anime icon worldwide over the last few years, and it is quite easy to see that he's a beloved character that fans love to see on screen. This is precisely why his absence hurts the fans that much more. Indeed, in JJK Season 2, specifically during the Shibuya Incident, Gojo Satoru was sealed away by Kenjaku via the Prison Realm.

At Anime Pasadena 2025, Gojo’s English VA, Kaiji Tang, was asked about his most anticipated moment from the series, and while he tried to avoid any spoilers, he definitely hinted at Gojo making his return in JJK Season 3. Kaiji Tang stated that he has been waiting years for this moment, and he could only really be talking about Gojo’s unsealing.
“I can’t say much without giving things away. But I’ll just say this: I’ve been waiting for that moment for years.
When it finally happens, it’s going to be huge — emotional, intense, and maybe even divisive. People are definitely going to feel things. That’s all I can safely say.

Season 3 Will End On Gojo’s Unsealing And Set up the Major Battle to Come
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 is the most highly anticipated season of the whole franchise so far. This season will kickstart the Culling Game arc, and based on everything seen so far, will definitely also feature the unsealing of Satoru Gojo, something fans have been eagerly waiting for.
Gojo’s unsealing, however, shouldn’t be expected by fans early on in the season. This massive event will be towards the end, probably during the final episode of the season, which means it'll happen in the second court or JJK Season 3.
Gojo’s unsealing would be the best point to end the season at, and it would set up huge things for the franchise. With Gojo unsealed, a big battle would then be on the cards, and fans know that it'll be the clash of the strongest. Gojo vs Sukuna would then be set up for a perfect movie adaptation. All fans need to do is wait.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 17 will be released on January 4, 2026.
