This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
After an excruciatingly long wait, Jujutsu Kaisen is finally back with its third season, and fans are incredibly excited to see what this incredible story, woven by Gege Akutami, is going to deliver this time around. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 set a new standard for the series, and fans know very well that it is quite easily one of the best modern anime series in the making.
One of the most exciting parts of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 came when the strongest, that is Gojo Satoru, was sealed away, and with that, he wasn't around to save everyone anymore. While Gojo was predominantly featured in the first half of the season, as the story continued, he was cut out of the plot using the plot device known as Prison Realm.
Gojo Satoru's Perfect Replacement Is Finally Coming In Crunchyroll's New Hit 2026 Anime
Gojo is one of anime's most popular, and his perfect replacement is coming in a new 2026 anime.
Gojo's sealing was incredibly important for the plot to move forward, and while it certainly gave fans exciting battles such as Yuji vs. Choso, and later down the line, even bigger fights against the likes of Mahito, fans know very well that Gojo Satoru is missed to this day. Gojo's return is something that every fan of the series is desperately praying for at this point in time, and it goes without saying that he will come back eventually. In fact, it has already been confirmed that Gojo Satoru will make his comeback at the end of JJK Season 3, and that is incredibly exciting for all fans of the series to hear.
Gojo Satoru Was Sealed During The Shibuya Incident
- Kenjaku Orchestrated Gojo's Sealing
- The Prison Realm Was Key To Sealing Gojo
Hardly any fan of the series expected Gojo Satoru to be sealed during the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The fact is that Gojo is the strongest sorcerer in the modern era, and hardly anyone can stand up to him. The difference in strength between Gojo and all the others around him is absolutely staggering, so for him to be sealed away in the manner that he was, was rather surprising for all the fans.
That said, it goes to show how smart of an individual Kenjaku truly was. By driving Gojo in Shibuya and using every means necessary to first exhaust him and then take him by surprise, Kenjaku succeeded in sealing Gojo Satoru away, and this left the fans shocked as well.
Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one." — Gojo Satoru
Gojo's sealing was extremely important for the plot at that moment because if he had been around, then Shibuya would most definitely have ended in a matter of seconds. Gojo was so strong that no one in Shibuya could have posed even a bit of a threat to him, and all the fights would have ended with Gojo's utter domination, which would have resulted in a rather underwhelming arc.
Gojo had to be cut out of the plot in order for other characters to progress their stories in different ways. For instance, Nanami's plotline would most definitely not have concluded had Gojo been there. At the same time, fans also know that Yuji most definitely would not have eaten all the fingers that he did if Gojo were in Shibuya. In either case, it is evident that Gojo's sealing was necessary for the story to move in the direction that Gege wanted it to, and that is precisely why the story is as exciting as it is right now.
Jujutsu Kaisen: 20 Strongest Powers Of Sukuna
Sukuna is arguably the most powerful character in Jujutsu Kaisen, and here are some of his most powerful abilities.
All that aside, fans should also keep in mind that Gojo's sealing was always going to be temporary. Gojo was never going to die such an underwhelming death, and it goes without saying that he will go on to return at some point later down the line. Fans who read the manga are very well aware of when Gojo will come back, and based on the content of Season 3, it is quite clear that this moment is not all that far away now. Gojo's return is on the horizon, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what he delivers once he does come back.
Gojo Satoru Will Be Unsealed At The End Of JJK Season 3
- The Culling Game Will See Gojo's Return
- Gojo's Students Rise to the Occasion
Fans might be wondering when exactly Gojo Satoru will return in JJK, and the answer to that question is quite simple. Gojo is going to return at the end of the third season, once the Culling Game has started to finalize. Based on the number of chapters that each episode is going to adapt and the fact that fans know what parts of the story are going to make it to JJK Season 3, it is easy to say that Gojo's return should happen around the end of the season. His return is going to be a delight to all the fans, and at the same time, it is also going to set up even bigger things for the future of the series.
I love everyone and don't feel lonely now, but somewhere along the way, there was a line I drew, not as a human but as a living creature. You can make a flower bloom, you can admire it, but you can't tell that flower, "I want you to understand me." — Gojo Satoru to Suguru Geto, JJK Chapter 236
Following the conclusion of JJK Season 3, the final segment of the story will finally begin. At the end of the day, JJK is still a very short story, but that does not take away from the fact that its final phase is incredibly chaotic and exciting for all the fans, and Gojo has to play a major role there.
Gojo's Return Is Crucial For Jujutsu Kaisen
As fans know already, Gojo Satoru is the strongest modern sorcerer, and for him not to be around during the most intense phase of the story was always going to be impossible. Gojo is the soul of Jujutsu Kaisen, and he truly needs to be around when the biggest of threats descends upon the sorcerers of Japan. Gojo is their best shield against all enemies, and that is exactly what makes him an incredibly fascinating character to follow. There are also multiple plot lines with Gojo that still need to be resolved, and fans can't wait to see where Gege takes this character in the anime.
A Major Gojo Battle Is Coming
Heading into manga spoiler-heavy territory, fans know that once Gojo returns, a massive battle will unfold in Jujutsu Kaisen, and that is the fight of Gojo vs Sukuna. This battle was first teased in the very first season of the series, and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for it to happen. Of course, manga fans already know how this battle begins and how it concludes, but anime fans probably aren't all that familiar with the exact way this fight pans out. Regardless, seeing it animated is going to be absolutely brilliant.
Unfortunately, this massive battle of Gojo vs Sukuna is most definitely not going to make it into JJK Season 3. But, after Gojo returns, following his unsealing, fans will most likely see a setup to this battle at the end of the season. JJK's biggest battle is officially on the way, and most fans hope that it is going to be made into a movie which premieres later down the line. For now, little is known about this exciting battle, but hopefully it will live up to the expectations of all the fans.
