Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 leads the 2026 winter season with the anime adaptation of the Culling Games arc. The first episodes of the third season lived up to expectations, as fans got not just one but two surprises: an explosive opening full of massive spoilers as well as the death and revival of Yuji Itadori. So much has happened already, but JJK is just getting started.
And speaking of Yuji Itadori, Sukuna's vessel has no time to chill and relax in the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Even before the Culling Games begin, Yuji Itadori is destined to meet new sorcerers who are stronger than him. Without Sukuna’s help, Yuji has no chance to defeat these sorcerers with his own strength and current power level.

Yuta Okkotsu
The pilot episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 reintroduces Yuta Okkotsu as Yuji Itadori’s assigned executioner. As fans have witnessed in the first episode, it did not take long before Yuta killed Yuji and brought him back to life.
While Yuta was impressed with Yuji’s speed and combat prowess, having been able to break up his katana, the fight had a clear winner. With Rika by Yuta’s side, his power and precision were unmatched. Beyond this, Yuta Okkotsu is one of the most respected sorcerers in JJK. Even Gojo believes in Yuta’s potential to surpass him, recognizing not only his immense cursed energy but also his ability to adapt in battle. He also has a solid ally by his side, who further amplifies his strength.
At this point, facing Yuta in a solo match will be difficult for Yuji, considering Yuta can kill Yuji even without using his copy technique. Even Yuta’s mere presence can terrify Yuji, which makes it clear how outmatched the latter is right now.
Yuki Tsukumo
Just like Yuta Okkotsu, Yuki Tsukumo is a special grade sorcerer, which tells a lot about her skills as a Jujutsu sorcerer. Bear in mind that only the likes of Gojo Satoru, Yuta Okkotsu, and Suguru Geto have reached this elite level, placing Yuki among the most powerful and respected jujutsu sorcerers, above anyone else, including Yuji.
Right now, Yuji hasn’t reached their level and is far from closing the distance in overall stats and combat experience. At some point, Yuki also mentored Aoi Todo, who later taught Yuji how to use Black Flash during the Goodwill Event. About her abilities, it’s safe to assume that she has enough power to literally destroy a planet if she wants to.
Kinji Hakari
Treating Yuji Itadori as his personal punching bag is a major flex for Kinji Hakari. Before Yuji became stronger than anyone else, Kinji experienced the rare feeling of giving Yuji a major beatdown before they went their separate ways in the Culling Games.
Despite coming from the same Jujutsu High, Kinji and Yuji aren’t exactly close allies. They started on the wrong foot, with Yuji disappointing the passionate and confident Kinji with his boring personality and idealistic outlook.
During Yuji and Kinji’s fight, the latter wasted no time beating the former with his heavy punches. His cursed energy is rougher than anyone else's, which explains why his punches felt like a baseball bat with razors to Yuji.
In addition, Gojo and Yuta have high regard for Kinji, giving him compliments for his skills and overall potential despite his abrasive personality. If he had gotten serious with Yuji during their match, there’s little doubt he could have dominated.
Hiromi Higuruma
Hiromi Higuruma’s growth in JJK is faster than anybody else’s, making him a jujutsu prodigy. In just a short amount of time, he familiarized himself with high-level techniques, including Domain Expansion, Domain Amplification, and Reverse Cursed Technique, which Yuji himself struggles to fully grasp and execute on his own.
While most fans would argue that Yuji could have defeated Higuruma during their solo match in the Culling Games had he gotten serious, others believe Higuruma has the upper hand. His Domain Expansion, combined with his combat prowess, forced Yuji into a panic state, and without his cursed energy. Not to mention, he owns the Executioner Sword, which can kill anyone with a single strike; no exceptions.
Hajime Kashimo
Without a doubt, Hajime Kashimo stands as one of the strongest ancient sorcerers in the Culling Game. Dubbed as the God of Lightning, only the strongest sorcerers can fight him on equal footing. No wonder he easily made a record of 40 kills in the Culling Games in just a short amount of time.
While Kashimo and Yuji were not given a chance to fight each other, fans believe they would have had an intense match. However, Kashimo would almost certainly take the win against Yuji, who has yet to learn Domain Expansion and Reverse Cursed Technique. Of course, the discussion will be different if we pit end-of-series Yuji against Kashimo.
Yorozu
The number one fan of Sukuna himself joins the Culling Game in an attempt to kill her greatest love. Yorozu only has one goal in mind, and that is to fight and kill Sukuna, forcing him to learn and accept what the real meaning of love is.
Don’t be fooled by her looks, as Yorozu is a menacing sorcerer. Just like Kashimo, she is an ancient sorcerer with a problematic yet overpowered cursed technique. In season 3, Yuji will probably lose against her if she creates the Perfect Sphere early in the match. Depending on how Yorozu begins the match, both strategy and timing will play a critical role in determining the winner.
