If there’s one thing Jujutsu Kaisen takes very seriously, it’s the battles. Jujutsu Kaisen is the definition of battle shonen, and it has done incredibly well in the last decade. In a manga where battles are such a huge deal, fans are always wondering who the strongest characters are, and the answer has technically already been revealed by Gege Akutami himself in his new manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.

While fans already knew how terrifyingly powerful Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna were, Yuji is now officially a sorcerer who can be considered on their level. This is because he is now seen as one of Japan’s very best sorcerers of all time. These three, Gojo, Sukuna, and Yuji, make up JJK’s top 3 strongest characters.

Gojo and Sukuna are the Undisputed Strongest Sorcerers of JJK

One thing that was never up for debate in the JJK fandom was that Gojo and Sukuna were the two very strongest of the world. These two could both be called the world’s strongest sorcerers, and their face-off in the Shinjuku Showdown arc showed just that. The two of them were pretty close, and both were able to land some devastating damage on the other.

Gojo stood out with his Six Eyes and Limitless, while Sukuna had access to Mahoraga and his own cursed technique, Shrine. Sukuna won in the end, but that doesn’t mean he is stronger than Gojo, as Gege revealed this battle was won due to Gojo lowering his guard, and because Sukuna had Ten Shadows. After Shinjuku, however, both of these characters died. This has given rise to the new strongest sorcerer of JJK, Yuji Itadori.

Yuji Has Reached New Levels of power as a Sorcerer

Gojo and Sukuna were both insane beasts, but the Shinjuku Showdown arc gave birth to the new strongest sorcerer, and that is none other than Yuji. Yuji wasn’t even in his prime back in Shinjuku, and adult Yuji might be on a whole other level.

“This became the spark that gave rise to ‘Mojuro,’ which originally didn’t even have a single concrete idea, and after numerous planning meetings, it finally came to life. This will be a short-term serialization, about half a year, collected in roughly 3 volumes.” — Gege Akutami

In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which is a JJK sequel, Gege Akutami has revealed that Gojo and Yuji are considered Japan’s best sorcerers. Being compared to Gojo is definitely huge for Yuji, even though he has probably not surpassed him. This, at least, confirms that Yuji is in the top 3 strongest JJK sorcerers of all time, alongside Sukuna and Gojo.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in late 2024, but can be read online for free. It is available to access on Manga Plus where this series used to be serialized weekly.
