This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen welcomes Yuka Okkotsu as the new user of the Ten Shadows Technique, raising questions about the whereabouts of its previous caster, Megumi Fushiguro. Since the first chapter of JJK Modulo, Megumi has never showed up, while his comrades, Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki, have officially returned after a 62-year skip.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are now worried about Megumi Fushiguro’s current status, as the JJK sequel has already confirmed two major character deaths, Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. With Megumi out of commission and Yuka being hailed as the new Ten Shadows user, fans are starting to speculate that Megumi Fushiguro is already dead in JJK Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Sequel Has A New Character That Can Surpass Yuji Itadori
Yuji had insane potential, but these new characters from JJK Modulo might have even more.
Megumi Fushiguro Has Not Returned in JJK Modulo
Megumi's Current Status Is Undetermined
While Megumi Fushiguro’s Ten Shadows technique has returned in JJK Modulo, the man himself has never shown up. His disappearance in the JJK sequel has become a hot topic among fans, especially those who believe he has passed away off-screen, likely due to old age or an unknown disease. Even major characters are not exempted from certain death in the series, so Gege Akutami may have ended Megumi’s journey as well.
Unlike Yuji Itadori, who roams the streets of present-day Japan, or Nobara Kugisaki, who remains in touch with the Jujutsu society, there's no concrete update about Megumi’s status. While fans want to see Megumi alive and well, there are fans who want him dead and gone for the sake of the next-generation sorcerers. Megumi has served his purpose in the original series, and bringing him back to JJK Modulo might not be ideal anymore.
Still, in a world where aliens have become a significant threat to Jujutsu sorcerers, Megumi isn’t the type of guy who would remain quiet, especially when those close to him are in danger. One way or another, he is still connected to Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, after all. In short, Megumi’s silence is both concerning and alarming to fans.
Yuka Okkotsu Replaced Megumi as New Ten Shadows User
Two Ten Shadows Users Can Exist Simultaneously
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are embracing Yuka Okkotsu as the new user of the Ten Shadows Technique after seeing her summon the Divine General Mahoraga against Dabura Karaba in an all-or-nothing duel where her life is at stake. Only those who can use the Ten Shadows technique can spawn Mahoraga, which reminded fans of Megumi Fushiguro and the first time he summoned the uncontrollable shikigami against Haruta Shigemo in JJK Season 2.
Having Yuka as the new Ten Shadows user doesn’t mean Megumi Fushiguro is dead in JJK Modulo. There’s no clear evidence of his death, and while it's redundant for two Ten Shadows users to exist at the same time, the story never establishes any rule stating that the technique cannot manifest in more than one user simultaneously. This rule can only be applied to Limitless and the Six Eyes, which can only manifest in one user, at least for now.

As such, there’s still hope that Megumi is still alive in JJK Modulo. However, his status, whether he is still capable of fighting or not, is a huge question, as Megumi has never shown any proof of life in the sequel. Worst-case scenario, Megumi has died off-screen, and fans won’t be able to do anything but accept his death.
Megumi Could Still Appear in JJK Modulo
Fans have seen familiar faces in JJK Modulo, including Yuji, Nobara, and Ui Ui, all of whom have been confirmed alive and well. Then there were characters like Gojo, Sukuna, and Mahito who appeared in manga panels, either using them as a reference or deliberately inserted just to mislead the readers about their role in the JJK sequel.
On that note, Megumi Fushiguro could still appear in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, either through flashbacks, visions, or dreams. Depending on his current status, whether he is alive or not, Gege Akutami may bring back Megumi. However, it’s best to keep expectations in check, especially with Yuji Itadori suffering from the grief of losing his friends in the Jujutsu world.
