Yuji Itadori is now one of the most dynamic protagonists in the genre of shōnen, not only owing to his raw physical power but also owing to the way he comes to acquire his strength by means of blood, loss, and defiance. Although most battles in Jujutsu Kaisen are over-the-top insane battles, Yuji has moments of glory that are characterized by pure rage, emotional stakes, and higher-than-ever demonstrations of cursed energy that leave both his opponents and the viewers amazed.

The difference between Yuji and other shōnen leads is that every fight is made personal. His wins are not pure, and his defeats have scars which do not actually heal. Whenever Yuji goes all out, it is never about winning, it is always about saving someone, paying respect to someone or putting an end to something that should never have been. The article at the time of writing focuses only on the strongest points of Yuji Itadori in the anime as of now.

Accomplices

It is in this battle that Yuji and Nobara cease being promising students and become actual threats. In contrast to Eso and Kechizu, they are already quite familiar with their cursed technique. The unique aspect of this fight is not survival, but the way that Yuji and Nobara have the confidence to trust each other in the middle of unconditional danger. Nobara witnesses personally how well he can be trusted when there is no time to lose, and the battle silently demonstrates that Yuji is already on a higher plane of physical abilities compared to most other sorcerers surrounding him.

The power and speed of Yuji were seen to be amazing up to now, but not this much as Eso was about to catch up to Yuji and Nobara to kill them. Yuji picked Nobara up and ran faster than she could have ever imagined, impressing both Nobara and Eso. It is also cute to note that Yuji had always been able to run this fast, but he just decided not to leave behind Nobara in the first place.

Title

Red Scale

The meeting of Yuji with Choso in the Shibuya Incident seems unjust at first. Poor boy Yuji has been in and out of fights the whole night. And facing an opponent such as Choso who is more knowledgeable, accurate and ruthlessly effective with Blood Manipulation. Yuji, on the other hand, is already wounded, overtaxed and placed into a tight area where there is no possible way of escape still manages to block a direct blood-piercing move that shows how much stronger he has gotten.

It's a proven fact by now that Yuji refuses to go down. He takes hits that are lethal and continues to move despite being hurt and even manages to fight off full-blood attacks with just instincts and sheer strength. This is not the time that makes Yuji look invincible, it is the time that makes him look terribly resolute, one who simply refuses to keep getting back on his feet.

Black Flash

It is something extraordinary to land a Black Flash once. The fact that Yuji does it several times to Hanami seems unreal. The fact that this moment is so rewarding is that it does not seem forced, but rather, it seems like Yuji has finally coordinated his body, cursed energy, and feelings to the point to the point of perfection.

The landing of each Black Flash is weighty not only on the eye but also on the story. It is at this point that one can not deny the potential in Yuji. He is not just swinging hard anymore, he is hitting with the kind of terrifying accuracy, displaying glimpses of what he may one day grow to become should he continue to mature.

Yuji First Brutal Clash With Mahito After Junpei’s Death

Yuji's Rage

Season

1

Episode

Title

To You, Someday

The death of Junpei breaks something inside Yuji and Mahito is the means through which it is all vented out. This is not a clean, controlled, or strategic fight, but raw anger served out with fists and arguably one of the best rage moments in anime. Yuji does not hesitate at all in throwing himself at Mahito, completely guided by grief and guilt, yet at the same time, he still remains composed. Most sorcerers at this point would lose control and charge in blindly. That's what Mahito thought too, but Yuji proved him wrong.

What is so strong at this moment is its unrefined nature. Yuji is not relaxed or self-assured, he is enraged, hopeless, and wounded. And yet, such an emotional outburst renders him even more dangerous. It is the first time that the agony of Yuji can really turn into sheer power.

Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo’s Perfectly Synchronized Battle Against Mahito

Metamorphosis

Yuji and Todo, having to fight and act together is a bit like two puzzle pieces falling into place. The wildness of Todo conceals his genius tactical mind, and Yuji will get along with him at first sight. Their coordination level becomes so effective that Mahito, a Special Grade curse, begins to lose control of the fight.

Yuji is as flexible as possible. He is an ego-free listener, reactor, and has complete trust in Todo. Each strike is more powerful since they are a part of something greater. It is one of the best illustrations of the fact that Yuji is an even stronger force when he finds a person who understands him fully.

Yuji Itadori Overpowers Mahito by Attacking His Soul

Right and Wrong, Part 2

When Yuji encounters Mahito once again at Shibuya, he has lost too much to be hesitant. Yuji is sure that the determination of Nobara is not irrelevant, and he forces himself to overcome his weakness and terror. His assaults are directed not only at the body of Mahito, but towards his soul too, something no other sorcerer except Nobara was able to do so far, but even then, Yuji is the only one actually able to damage him in a meaningful way.

This scene seems to be an emotional payoff. Yuji is no longer fighting based on anger, but belief. The reality behind every blow is hope in his friends and not allowing Mahito to go on living after what he did to his mentor, Nanami. It is harsh, direct, and very gratifying to enjoy.

Title

Metamorphosis

The most OP moment of Yuji in Jujutsu Kaisen so far is not a black flash or his cursed energy, but his face. Yuji does not rejoice or celebrate after he beats up Mahito, but instead agrees with his earlier statement: "You and I, we are the same," as he tells Mahito that no matter when and where he is reborn, Yuji will always kill him. He is walking with vacant eyes determined to kill him. No hesitation. No mercy. Just resolve.

This scene turns the tables between the power balance. Mahito, who used to be playful and cruel, the hunter now turns into prey. Yuji turns into the very thing that Mahito is afraid of: a person who gets to know him and decides to kill him. It is the coldest, strongest version of Yuji we have ever seen in the anime so far and nothing can compare.
