That's right; a manga has gone on hiatus because the writer of it was so shocked by the most recent chapter of another manga! The manga going on hiatus is called Fly Me to the Moon, and the one with the shock factor is none other than Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fly Me to the Moon is regularly published in Shogakukan's magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday, and has been since February 2018. It is written by Kenjirou Hata, and is currently 15 books long. Fly Me to the Moon follows a young man named Nasa, who has felt connected to space whether he likes it or not thanks to his name. But when he meets a mysterious girl named Tsukasa, he gets more than he bargained for - she is determined to marry him. But there is something strange about her; is she an alien, a moon goddess, or something else entirely?
Fly Me to the Moon has an anime adaptation that aired in October 2020 and ran for 12 episodes. It was popular enough that it also had an English dub that streamed on Crunchyroll. The second season of the anime aired just this past April, and also aired simultaneously on Crunchyroll, too.
The manga chapters for Fly Me to the Moon have been releasing consistently, but that is going to stop for a little while. In the latest episode of Weekly Shonen Sunday, Issue 46 for this year, Kata announced that he would be taking a hiatus until the magazine's 50th issue. That is still four issues away. The culprit is Chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the most recent chapter.
Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular anime and manga in the world right now, and plenty of people read that last chapter. Kata is not alone in his shock, as many fans have taken to the internet to express their own shock and disbelief.
