Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat shared his thoughts on VTuber Ironmouse surpassing him during her subathon. Both Twitch streamers are known for their entertaining gaming content, which thousands of viewers tune in to whenever they're live.

Ironmouse recently hosted a 30-day Twitch subathon, where she played a variety of games and hosted episodes of her weekly talent show, Ironmouse VTuber Academy, while also raising money for the Immune Deficiency Fund (IDF). During the subathon, Ironmouse gained over 311,000 subscribers, surpassing Kai Cenat's record of over 306,000 subscribers. Many of Ironmouse's fans and peers, including Cenat, congratulated her on the huge milestone, but she also received unnecessary hate.

Twitch Makes Change to Partner Stats Requirements

Twitch is making a major change to the requirements for its Partner Program, making it easier for even more users to apply for monetization on Twitch.

In a recent Twitch stream, Cenat spoke out about the backlash that Ironmouse had been receiving, and showed his support for the VTuber. He reminded viewers that Ironmouse has always been one of Twitch's most-subscribed streamers, and that she was the person he had to surpass during his very first subathon last year.

Kai Cenat Defends Ironmouse After Twitch Subscriber Backlash

  • Ironmouse's Twitch subscriber record: Over 312,000
  • Kai Cenat's previously held record: Over 306,000

Cenat also acknowledged the people who defended him after Ironmouse surpassed his subscriber record, but went on to say that the VTuber's subathon was "pretty well put together" and also commended her for donating to charity. Cenat also previously promised his supporters that he would get the most-subscribed Twitch streamer title back in some way if it was broken.

Recently, Cenat has been drawing in numbers with his entertaining Soulslike streams, where he spends hours and even days trying to finish FromSoftware titles like Elden Ring and Sekiro. Rockstar Games even reached out to him for a possible collaboration, which fans speculate could either be a Grand Theft Auto 6 cameo or an early preview of the game. It's safe to say that Cenat might have enough gaming content to sustain him in his present and future streams, which could help him surpass Ironmouse again when the time is right.

Subathons are definitely a great way for streamers to rake in subscribers, especially if they set goals that involve fun challenges. However, there are challenges with subathons, like the possibility of Twitch streamers getting swatted and challenges going wrong. Many fans also expressed concern over streamers not getting enough rest, especially those who choose not to sleep for days or continue to do content despite being tired until their subathon ends. Regardless, the trend is likely here to stay.
