The official broadcast date of the second season of Production I.G.'s Kaiju No. 8 has finally been revealed. Kaiju No. 8 season 2 is set to broadcast on July 19, with the spin-off story based on Third Division Vice-Captain, Sōshirō Hoshina, set to hit screens on July 5.

The news came with a brand-new key visual featuring the main man, Kafka Hibino, with the Director General of the Special Defense Force, Kikoru's dad, Isao Takahata, standing behind him looking formidable as Kikoru herself and Narumi Gen jet out from the flanks. The new season of Kaiju No. 8 will broadcast at 23:30 JST on July 19.

The Anime Adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto's Manga Continues

Much like the first season, Kaiju No. 8 season 2 will air worldwide on X (formerly known as Twitter), and continues to be the sole anime title to have done so. The Hoshina's Day Off side-story anime will also be simulcast on X when it broadcasts on July 5. Tomura Shigaraki voice actor, Kōki Uchiyama, will join the cast as the voice of First Division Captain and Kikoru's mentor, dubbed "Japan's Strongest Anti-Kaiju Combatant", Gen Harumi. While no official cast and staff list has been released for the upcoming second season of Kaiju No. 8, it's a fairly safe bet that those who were involved in the first season, will be involved in the production of the next season as many of them were involved in the production of the Hoshina's Day Off special episode.
