While Hollywood actors are used to interacting with huge names all the time, whether during an audition, when filming a project, or at an event, sometimes they still get starstruck. An actor shared a hilarious story about working with Daniel Radcliffe, and it's memorable and relatable.
Although, of course, Radcliffe is most recognized for portraying the young wizard in the Harry Potter franchise, his impressive career has seen him take on a variety of projects. He starred in eerie horror movies such as The Woman in the Black and Horns, which was adapted from the Joe Hill novel. The actor has appeared on the small screen as well, most notably in the quirky comedy series Miracle Wiracles but also episodes of Bojack Horseman, Robot Chicken, and Rick and Morty. It's easy to imagine that everyone who works with Radcliffe spends the entire time thinking, "That's Harry Potter, " but it's unlikely that everyone had the humorous experience that one of his costars did.

Karan Soni Shares A Funny Story About Being "Starstruck" By His Miracle Workers Costar Daniel Radcliffe
In an interview with The AV Club, Karan Soni shared that he was "starstruck" when he auditioned for Miracle Workers, the hilarious anthology series that ran for four seasons. He said that the auditions took place at the offices of Broadway Video and when he saw Daniel Radcliffe through the glass, he realized that he was flustered. But, instead of telling the Harry Potter star that he was a huge fan, he took a more unique approach. Soni explained:
"in my twenties, I would do this thing where if I was really a fan of someone, I would be mean to them. I wouldn’t be nice because it was almost like I doubled down, so I would be ice-cold and pretend I didn’t know anything about them because I worried if I said even one thing, it would just blurt out in a creepy way."
Soni decided that he would act as if he had never heard of the Harry Potter franchise, and he asked, "What's that?" When it was brought up. After that moment, he kept up the bit, and explained:
"The entire time I’m like, oh, no, what have I just started? Because now I have to pretend that I’ve lived in a world where I don’t know what Harry Potter is—the books, movies, anything."
Soni eventually told Radcliffe that he was of course familiar with the Harry Potter franchise. Radcliffe replied that he thought so, and it was fine to ask him questions. Soni then watched all the movies and they had some detailed and interesting conversations. The story is not only funny but also fairly relatable as many would likely find themselves unsure of what to say if they met Radcliffe. The actor is likely used to people sharing how much they loved watching him play the magical character.
Miracle Workers is an underrated series and each season takes on a different storyline and setting. Season 1 is adapted from series creator Simon Rich's book What in God's Name, season 2 takes place in the Dark Ages, season 3 finds characters on the Oregon Trail, and season 4 tells a post-apocalyptic story.
Besides appearing on Miracle Workers as various characters such as Sanjay Prince, The Gunslinger, Tai, and TI-90, Soni voiced Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India in Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, a role that he will reprise in 2027's Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. He also played the memorable taxi driver Dopinder in Deadpool and Deadpool & Wolverine. Soni has an impressive comedic resume that includes roles on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Goldbergs, Abbott Elementary, Nobody Wants This, and Big Mouth.
As for Radcliffe, he's appearing in the upcoming crime thriller Now You See Me: Now You Don't, which is the third in the franchise that began in 2013. His most recent film role was the title character in 2022's Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
