Karma: The Dark World, a horror game that is available on consoles only via PlayStation, is set to leave this exclusivity behind and arrive on Xbox on September 10. This announcement means that Karma: The Dark World will roll out on Xbox Series X/S, months after its initial launch across PC and PS5 on March 27.
Developed by Pollard Studio, a Chinese game developer, Karma: The Dark World is a psychological horror game played from a first-person perspective. It is set in the year 1984 in a dystopian version of East Germany and follows the story of Daniel McGovern, an agent employed by the despotic Leviathan Corporation to enter the minds of suspects and carry out crime investigations. The game has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam based on over 2,700 reviews, whereas it is rated over 4.2/5 stars based on feedback from more than 1,400 on the PS Store.
Xbox's Next Rumored PS5 Port Would Be a Match Made in Heaven
One of the Xbox exclusives that Microsoft is reportedly planning to bring to PS5 would be a perfect fit on Sony's current-gen console.
Karma: The Dark World Reveals Xbox Release Date
- September 10, 2025
In a new announcement, Karma: The Dark World revealed that its PS5 console exclusivity would soon end when it drops on Xbox this September. This would also mark the end of over four months during which the horror title was a console exclusive on PlayStation. In addition to the base game content, the upcoming release will also come with the green Xbox filter mode, available for players to choose in the in-game photo mode. This filter is exclusive to Microsoft's platform, and an equivalent option is not available on the highly popular PlayStation console. In the accompanying trailer, Karma: The Dark World gave a few glimpses of its surreal moments and creepy characters.
With so many Xbox titles making their way to PlayStation over the past several months, it's refreshing to see a game making the jump in the opposite direction for a change. Even though this isn't comparable to the growing lineup of former exclusives the green brand has shipped over to the blue brand recently, it may still be something to be happy about for Xbox owners.
As one game leaves the PS5 console exclusives list, another is waiting in the wings to fill the void. That's because PlayStation users are scheduled to receive another console exclusive called Lost Souls Aside on August 29. It is an action-RPG developed by Ultizero Games and was born out of Sony's China Hero Project. Apart from PS5, it will also roll out on PC on the same day.
