ScootX, a sandbox-style scooter game, is launching on Xbox next week. The early access up-and-comer aims to deliver a Skate-like focus on feel, flow, and physics, just with a kick scooter rather than a skateboard.
ScootX is the latest title from Mash Games, a North Vancouver-based studio that has so far been exclusively focused on making BMX video games, having released PIPE by BMX Streets and BMX Streets in 2018 and 2024, respectively. Billed as the first-ever fully physics-driven scooter sim, ScootX originally launched in Steam Early Access on July 4, 2025.

Based on their Steam early access performance, these games look extremely promising and are already fantastic.
ScootX Locks Down an Xbox Release Date
Two and a half months later, the indie sports sim is ready to make the jump to consoles, specifically the Xbox Series X/S. It will release on September 19 as part of the Game Preview program, becoming the first Mash Games-produced title to debut on Microsoft's current-gen Xbox consoles. The Canadian developer has not yet disclosed console pricing. If the Steam version is any indication, the physics-driven kick scooter sim is likely to retail for $19.99. The ScootX Xbox Store page is already live, though it offers limited information. The listing doesn't even mention a release date, which was confirmed separately by Microsoft, as part of the company's latest weekly roundup of upcoming Xbox launches.
Much of ScootX has been designed in service of experimentation. "There's no wrong way to ride," the game's official synopsis reads, promising consistent and meaningful progression no matter the playstyle. That flexibility is another thing that it has in common with the early access version of the Skate reboot, which is also launching in a few days' time, on September 16.
The ScootX Xbox Series X/S port is likely to arrive with all the updates that the game has already received on Valve's storefront over the summer. The latest of those materialized on August 30, adding an entirely new map. A day before that, ScootX added several new tricks and a few revamped animations.

Dozens of Games Coming to Xbox Next Week
ScootX is one of over three dozen games that are coming to the Xbox Series X/S during the week of September 15. The forthcoming releases will kick off with co-op adventure LEGO Voyagers and psychological horror title BrokenLore: LOW, followed by Football Heroes League, Goat Out of Hell, Frame Cat, and Parasol Superstars—all of which are scheduled to drop on September 16. Other highlights from this mid-September 2025 batch of Xbox games include puzzler Bio Block and the Frostpunk 2 console port, both of which arrive on September 18, followed by Car Mechanic Shop Simulator and the early access version of EA Sports FC 26 a day later.
