Though they may begin as selfish or cruel, by the end several characters are eventually redeemed after having gone on their own complex and fulfilling journey of positive character development. There are also many characters in anime who are extremely kind and pure-hearted individuals, who would put their own lives at risk for the sake of others. These characters, from their respective franchises, stand out as some of the kindest anime characters to date, who never forsake those in need and who put others before themselves consistently.

32 Shota Kazekaya

Tried To Understand Sawako From The Beginning

One of the most well-known romance anime of all time, From Me To You follows the story of Sawako Kuronuma and how she goes from being an ostracized classmate to the girlfriend of the most popular boy in her class, Shota Kazehaya. She begins the series as someone completely alone and bullied for her appearance, yet is soon befriended by Kazehaya, and later by classmates Ayane and Chizu, who begin to turn her life around.

Notably, as a character named Kurumi tells Sawako, Kazehaya was the only one from the start who never looked down on or pitied her, something even Ayane and Chizu had initially done. Because of Kazehaya’s kindness and support for Sawako, she was able to break out of her shell and make friends, and thus, undergo drastic positive character development.

31 Lord Kudo

His Hidden Kindness Transforms Miyo's Life

Despite his initial cold and hostile personality, Lord Kiyoka Kudo is actually one of the kindest anime characters. Kudo is very upset to learn of Miyo’s dreadful past, and as such, his heart warms to her. As Miyo gradually begins to understand him, and vice versa, they realize they truly love each other and want to be together no matter what.

Though he knows it will not heal her inner pain, Kudo deliberately goes out of his way to buy Miyo many expensive new clothes and is willing to give her anything if it would benefit her and make her feel better. Upon her kidnapping, Kudo rushes to save her from her stepmother and sister and waits by her side until she wakes again. Kudo grows fiercely protective of Miyo due to his love for her, evident in his many acts of kindness in My Happy Marriage.

30 Ochaco Uraraka

A Friendly Girl Who's Always There For Deku

Ochaco Uraraka was one of Izuku "Deku" Midoriya’s closest friends, right from when they both entered UA high school. Izuku was terribly nervous on the first day, only recently receiving One For All from All Might. However, Uraraka’s kind welcome, and saving him from tripping over, had a big effect on Izuku and the events of the Entrance Exam:

Uraraka saves him from falling again, this time from a perilous height. Afterward, she even approaches the teachers, asking them to give Izuku the points she’d earned since he’d gone out of his way to protect her in the exam, no matter the cost to himself. Uraraka desperately wanted Izuku to be recognized for his bravery and selflessness. From that day on, they quickly became good friends, and she was always kind to him and there for him when he needed it. From her genuine friendliness at the beginning, to her incredibly moving speech defending him in Season Six, Uraraka’s kindness, to both Deku and others, is evident throughout the series.

29 Chika Fujiwara

Sweet And Mischievous Yet Kind And Helpful

Chika Fujiwara is certainly one of the funniest characters in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War but she's also its kindest one. While Fujiwara has a mischievous side and sometimes acts a bit clueless she's also always ready to help her friends and anyone else in need.

Fujiwara is also the only character in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War whose intentions are always pure and good-hearted. No matter who asks for her help, Fujiwara always does her best to help them out or offer honest advice to her friends even when she's annoyed or tired. Thanks to her upbeat and cheerful personality and trustworthiness she's not only thought of by fans as a kind and hilarious character but also a loyal one.

Strong And Protective Of Her Friends

Tomo Aizawa is one of the most caring anime characters who quickly became many anime fans' favorite. She's not only a physically but mentally strong teen girl who is not afraid to speak her mind and protect those around her.

She's Tomo-chan Is A Girl!'S kindest character who is always there for her old and new friends. Even though most of her schoolmates first thought that she was rather intimidating once they got to know her they always realized that she's a fun, nonjudgmental, and thoughtful person who is protective of her loved ones.

Works Hard To Heal Others Even When She’s Exhausted

Fans who love charming and feel-good anime based on fairy tales already know about Snow White with the Red Hair. This anime is set in a world where Shirayuki's rare red hair makes her stand out and gets her unwanted attention in her home kingdom. However, thanks to her kindness and exceptional skills in herbalism she's able to help people. Shirayuki is constantly looking out for others, even if it puts her in danger. Even after she met Prince Zen, she wasn't seeking his protection but instead, they became true partners. As viewers follow their adventures, they learn that kindness is also about being brave, understanding, and standing up for what’s right. Her story teaches anime fans that real strength comes from caring for others, not just from power or status.
